a good read
Like all short story anthologies, this one has some cracking good ones and some that aren’t good, cracking or otherwise. That said, this tome has a better than average ratio. A few take too long before getting down to business, take much too long on the setup, but all but one of them make up for it once they do start rolling. 7/10. Recommended.

Interesting Tales Worth a Read for KiY Fans
An interesting series of tales based upon the ever expanding exploration of King in Yellow themed fiction. There are a number of really outstanding stories in this collection and it is well worth the time for anyone with an interest in this sub-genre of cosmic horror. Some of the stories bring a very interesting modern sensibility to the time honored themes of decay, madness, and otherworldly horror first brought to us by Chambers. That being said one of my favorites was a piece set in the Dark Ages, The Viking in Yellow by Christine Morgan. There are many interesting tales to read in this collection!

Stories range from good to excellent.
I don't think I could give a collection of short stories 5 stars so this is about as good as it gets. The stories range from good to excellent with nary a stinker in the collection.

Truly Chilling
I must confess that i simply cannot finish this book -- it is just too absolutely too, too very creepy. The first couple of stories were chilling, then i reached Masque Of The Queen and well, i need a break now. What an exquisite example of horror writimg, a la Carcosa. I expect i will try again to finish eventually; but i will have to take it in small doses.

Great Collection
This is ne of the best and most original collections featuring the King in Yellow I have read. Its stories span a wide range of time periods, settings, and subjects, all of which are ultimately cursed tby the presence of the King, and his horrendous manuscript.

Mesmerizing descents into sensual obsession
I love the mythology that has grown up around the King in Yellow and Carcosa, and this collection mines those ideas in a surprisingly wide variety of genres. Science fiction, Western, post apocalyptic, unreliable narrators, straight horror -- the Yellow Sign appears and works its insidious way into the lives of villains and victims alike. This is not a collection to miss.

Excellent collection of King in Yellow Stories
An excellent collection of yarns based on Chambers' King in Yellow series of short stories from a variety of authors with an eclectic array of styles. I found some of the stories excellent and even those that weren't were solid contributions to the ever-growing mythology surrounding Carcosa and the Tattered King.

Started slowly but by the middle the material got much better and the Yellow King theme which runs through all the different authors stories was good, I enjoy sci fi, sword and sorcery and horror genres and have read extensively therein and this was definitely good .
