Leon: Director’s Cut

I've seen this film many times, and I consider it a true cult classic. The director's cut is a little longer and spends more time exploring the relationship between Leon and Mathilda. This is actually quite important to the film, as it really is all about these protagonists and how they effectively save one another. Incredible performance by Natalie Portman in her debut role - I still consider this film her best performance to date, despite her age. Beautifully directed by Luc Besson to really capture the atmosphere at each critical scene. One of those films you can watch over and over again as it's not just about finding out what happens at the end.

I didn't think the 4k was anything special... but I have heard it really is a state of the art transfer. Probably I got immersed in the movie and forgot to leave my "critical hi-res" eye switched on. Anyway we all know the film is iconic.. a real masterpiece with amazing performances by Jean Reno, Gary Oldman, and of course Natalie Portman... but hey even the minor roles are played to perfection. One of the best films ever made... and if you haven't seen it, you're missing out. By all means give it a miss if you don't like cold blooded Assassins.

Given 3 stars because only one version of the film is in 4K instead of two. They should've transferred both versions like on a normal Blu-ray.

i originally bought this on dvd because i was a big fan of jean reno, but re-bought this online download because natalie portman is just amazing and to this day i still think this is her best work. and gary oldman is a truly epic bad guy, love this film!

The product arrived in good time. Brand new. I have a Samsung Blu-Ray / DVD device and have used it many times on both format videos.But this disk just didn't want to get past the 'splash' / main menu screen - telling me that none of my button presses were compatible with the disk. I tried every button on the controller several times. Same response. Couldn't navigate between any of the options on screen. Could see the 'PLAY [MOVIE]' option but could not select it, even though it was highlighted. Clearly the disk WAS compatible with my player because I could see the menu screen.I was about to ask for my money back, and then it worked.... whatever button sequence I had just done had 'fixed' it. So I watched the movie. Great.However, I tried to watch again... same old problem. And I can't figure out what sequence did the trick..... yet...Shall I return it or just persists for 15 minutes messing about with buttons until it runs?

I hadn't watched this film for a number of years but as my fiance hadn't seen it, that was a good excuse to put it on.Possibly Luc Besson's best work and Jean Reno's best acting role. Although there's not much depth to his character overall, Jean seamlessly switches between the poorly educated, simple man with a good heart, to a cold blooded hitman, including the mannerisms when checking out new apartments to live in.Gary Oldman was also on top form in this film.If you have heard about this film but never seen it, it is definitely worth a watch.

Okay movie but, not as great as I thought it will be, the whole story is based around the teenage girl, who act and pretend she’s grown up but she’s only teenage, waste of time unfortunately
