Plugged in - not using batteries.
Product is what I expected and is satisfactory, but there was no information with it. It was easy to set up, etc., but the plug lights up green and once it was red. I'd like to know why that is. It serves the purpose well and is visibly attractive. Also, a personal dislike of the item being breakable being shipped in an envelope that was not even bubble padded. The mailman stuffed it into a small mailbox. It should have been in a sturdy box. Lastly, I received a notice of shipment (2 items), but I only got 1 item.

Excellent stand light
Love this stand light. I already own one of these, but bought a second one for a spur of the moment out-of-town performance. Very bright on the high setting, with a wide enough beam for 2 pages. Runs on AA batteries, so you simply replace them if it goes dim during a show, instead of trying to recharge during intermission which never works.

Very functional (good illumination) but the construction is kind of light. My first one fell apart after about two years.

Lots of Light in the Darkness with a big bang for the Buck! Matthew 5:16
Great improvement on the twin boom goose neck I had. First off I use this in a live band setting for my drum charts in the sound proof drum enclosure. Plenty of light using the included power adapter. The 3 AA battery feature also works great. I have 120 volt A/C available but the batteries work as advertised. Depending where the power outlet is located you might think about getting a power strip extension to give you the added reach. The power adapter chord is 6 1/2 ft. long and plugs into a USB port of which the adapter is equipped with the USB connector. The dual light settings are useful and it also has an 'OFF' setting. Depending on your situation you may consider getting a suitable carrying case for the light and adapter. I have a Sterilite (UPC 073149961860 is associated with Small Sterlite Clip Box Clear Storage Handles Blue Kitchen Organizer Latch Secur) that measure 11"L X 6 5/8"W X 2 3/4"H. This protects the light pretty good and you can also put a few incidentals in with the light if you like. The Rapaputy Band

Bright, multi-level.
Multiple light intensities, with a reasonable duration of function on AAA batteries. I came up with an even better solution, though: I velcroed a flat rechargeable battery to the back of my music stand, and connected by USB. Now, it lasts a couple of weeks without any need to recharge. But if I practiced more....
