Are these DVD's rewritable? They have the "RW" on the case but the description says "write once".

No they are not rewriteable. In this case the RW signifies read-write. That means you can read from them and write to them. This item is marked DVD+R. If they are marked DVD+RW they would be rewriteable. They have to have the RW behind the disc description. Ex. CD-RW, CD+RW, DVD-RW, DVD+RW would signify all rewriteable disc's.

What is the difference between "Branded" and not?

Verbatim does not actually manufacture their own discs. They also use 2 different manufacturers that I am aware of. The superior quality Verbatim AZO discs, are manufactured by Mitsubishi, which should be the product on this page. The Verbatim DataLifePlus/DataLife Series are a lower quality product, manufactured by CMC Magnetics. Neither type of disc are actually manufactured by Verbatim themselves. This is a very common practice among most CD/DVD/BD recordable disc brands.

Verbatim life series dvds are reported to be lower quality and less reliable. i don't want life series. are these life series dvds?

I don't remember them having "Life Series" on the label, so I doubt it, but in any case, I used them ALL without one problem ~ THEY WERE FLAWLESS!

What color are the backs of these discs? Like the side you would not write on/label. Thanks!

Actually the backs of DVD's and CD's is virtually clear. You are looking at the backside of the Label area. The data material is behind the label, NOT on the back. This is why you should NEVER use a ball-point pen on the label, and NEVER scratch or damage the label side of the media. A challenge for you.... take an old cd/DVD and scratch through the label carefully. You will see the other side of the DVD and you will see light through it. You can almost see items you place near the scratched off area. After doing this, however, the disk is now ruined.

QUALITY AZO DVD+R DISCS!!!

Premium AZO QUALITY DVD+R discs! I used these to make navigation DVD’s for my 2007 BMW 750Li and it reads them w/o any issues. These are great discs.

Perfect! Genuine Verbatim (MCC) product.

Generally, genuine Verbatim disks are priced out of reach nowadays - I refuse to let large companies like Verbatim or Amazon to rape my wallet. However, I bought a couple of spools of these on sale for half price. Excellent, top tier quality. Your burns are reliable, and will last for decades with proper storage and care. I refuse to pay $65 for a spool of disks, but for half that price, they are totally worth it.
