Ultra Stop Non-Slip Indoor Rug Pad - Keeps our oriental rugs from sliding around and is very easy to use
Ordered the 8 x 10 rug pad a few months ago and have used it enough now to absolutely confirm that the pad works and we are very happy with the purchase. Have hardwood floor and room-sized oriental rugs in the major rooms, but smaller rugs in the entrance foyer and hallways. These smaller rugs tend to slide on the hardwood when our kids come blasting through, or whenever our crazy golden retriever decides it is time to do a little rug-surfing down the hallway! We cut this 8 x 10 pad into four pieces to fit under a 14 x 3 hallway runner and two smaller rugs (one 5 x 4 and the other 5 x 3). The pad cut very easily... actually, we really didn't have to 'cut' it at all -- the pad is made of rubber that is formed into a tight grid pattern. We just measured the size of the carpet and marked the pad, then ran open scissors (a fairly new, sharp pair) down the row of the grid that we marked. It was very fast and easy and I covered 10 feet of cutting in maybe 20 seconds. Our measurements allowed for the pad to be about two inches smaller than the carpet, all the way around. After measuring and cutting, we followed a similar routine to other reviewers: * Turned the rug upside down on the floor and vacuumed it well * Placed the pad on top of the underside of the rug and made sure there was at least 1 inch more carpet than pad * Cut about 20 2-inch long pieces of black duct tape and set them aside for use * Taped one corner as a starting point using one piece of tape on each of the corner's two sides * From that first corner, smoothed the pad and taped the other corner of the same end (placing tape between the corners) * Slowly worked our way down the pad, smoothing the pad and putting tape along the edge about every two feet * Turned the rug right side up, set it in place and vacuumed one more time. Now you can still grab the rug and pull it around if you need to, but it does not slip when the kids or dog come bounding in. We will be back to order at least one more to go under the 8 x 12 carpet in our entrance foyer! If you are looking for an inexpensive, effective, easy-to-use non-slip rug pad like this, we highly recommend this one.

Easy to cut, doesn't slip, makes the rugs softer.
This is fairly large, maybe 8x12 feet, and it is very easy to cut smaller pads from it. They stay square or rectangular because it's easy to follow the grid. It cuts easily with scissors.. However, we have some slippery-backed rugs on top of a pad cut from this Grip-It Ultra Stop, and they keep trying to wiggle off. They're cheap rugs and we should just buy better ones. You might give some thought to how much you want your rug to overlap the pad. If too much overlaps, that part doesn't have the pad under it and can be surprisingly slippy. If not enough overlap, a rug moves just enough to expose the pad after a while. Still, it's the best we've found.

Reasonably effective, but it'd work better if it were slightly thicker
This helps protect the hardwood floor under our runner carpet, and it keeps the runner from sliding around a LOT, but it's a little bit too thin to do the latter job fully. The runner carpet regularly slides around a little bit, not enough to be remotely hazardous, but enough that once a week or so, I need to re-adjust the carpet because this rug pad is showing along the edges. Since our carpet is in a hallway with a doorway to one side, traffic on the carpet isn't in all directions equally, so there's a net force that causes it to push a little bit in one direction. It seems to be so thin that it grips the smooth floor well, but doesn't provide enough friction against the backing of the carpet. A thicker version of this would almost certainly hold the carpet in place better.

Best bang for the buck!
In my 4 story home, there are so many oriental rugs and stair runners, I think I can never get enough, because they look so elegant on my hardwood floors. All of these rugs need a good gripping padding underneath, if one does not want to have a slipping accident when stepping onto them. The best solution, and for the best price, is this non-slip padding. Even a small bridge type rug, of 2x3 feet, will stay put no matter what: whether I walk across it in a hurry, or whether the doggies storm over it playfully. It cuts to the proper size really easily, with just a pair of scissors. You can follow the grid pattern and get nice right angle cuts. I usually lay the pad over the rug to be fitted, and cut the proper size, minus approximately 2 or 3 inches, so that it won't stick out from underneath. The interesting thing to consider is to make a list of all rugs one wants to cover, and then order the best size product, since the options range from 2x4 all the way to 12x15 or around there. I made a little table of the sizes offered, and calculated the per ft2 price. Just a little help for any of you to figure out what the best decision is.

Not only for rugs!
I use this mat for my mattress, I am very active at night and most nights my mattress is halfway on the floor when I wake up. I've been using this for a few nights and so far my mattress has not moved an inch. I was skeptical at first because it doesn't seem that able to hold a grip but this thing is a trooper, I'm sure I put a lot more wear and tear on it than a area rug so I'll update when I end up wearing it out but I will definitely be buying more!

Keeps Rugs in Place… Mostly
Keeps Rugs in Place… Mostly I tried this Slip-Stop Ultra Stop rug pad under a 6x9 area rug on hardwood, and while it does help reduce sliding, it doesn’t completely prevent it. The pad is lightweight and easy to cut to size, which I liked. It has a low profile, so the rug doesn’t sit up too high, and it doesn’t add bulk. The problem is that the rug still shifts when walked on, especially at the edges. On smoother hardwood, it seems less effective than I hoped. It works better under smaller rugs or in areas with less foot traffic, but for a medium-to-large rug in a main walkway, I still find myself adjusting it often. Bottom line: A decent non-slip option for lighter rugs or lower traffic areas, but if you need something that locks a rug fully in place, this may not be strong enough.

Perfect anti-slip addition for cotton area rugs!
Bought two of these in different sizes and they both work perfectly to hold the handmade cotton chindi (rag) rugs I purchased. I was a bit concerned that the rugs would slip around on our hardwood floors – and they do without these natural rubber rug grippers. I like that these grippers stay in place and are of a natural material – we've had others that melted into the hardwood floors. These have not been a problem – they grip so well we need to reposition them after vacuuming under the rugs - but they are easy to reposition and they do not damage the hardwood floor.

Made in USA & It works!
I needed a very thin, low profile rug pad for an entrance rug. This one came in multiple sizes, had good reviews and it’s Made in the USA….bonus!!! My parents always taught me to buy American if possible. That becomes increasingly more difficult. This product doesn’t have odor and grips for!

Excelente!
Tuve una caída porque el tapete se resbaló al pisarlo. Con éste producto me olvido de los resbalones. Hay de diferentes medidas para diferentes tapetes y puede recortarse.

Perfect!
I used this Grip-It Ultra Non-Slip Pad for a plush carpet runner at our cabin. Because our carpet is very thick I wanted a thin non-slip pad so it didn't add too much extra thickness to the carpet. This Grip-It Ultra pad worked PERFECTLY! Our floor is Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) and the carpet is 26" inches wide by 7 feet 3 inches long made of Polypropylene. Installation was a breeze. I just had to cut the Grip-It carpet pad to length and place it under the carpet. After the Grip-It pad was installed the carpet stayed put and was held in place... no more slipping and sliding. This Non-slip carpet pad is not very thick (which I like) and works great. Yes I would buy this Non-slip carpet pad again .... Good Price ... Highly Recommend

Works a charm!
We got a rug to protect the floor after getting a dog, but it was thin and floppy so every time he ran through the area or played tug on the rug it bunched up, lifted and slid out from under the furniture. (It's a big dog). I purchased this to see if it would improve things a little. It worked perfectly, better than I expected. Now the dog can run, play and tug and the carpet doesn't budge. Honestly was not expecting it to keep it in place so well.
