Lot better than expected
I had read a lot of customer reviews from about 3 other woodworking websites and from Amazon's. A good number of people gave it 3 stars stating that the suction was lacking, that it needed more suction power. Then I thought that Laguna would not put their name on a piece of equipment that would be under par with other brands. I don't know what size workshop the other users who bought this product has and I do not know what setup they have. So I looked at my size and setup: About 550 square feet and I only run 1 piece of equipment at a time. The furthest vacuum tube run is a little over 12 feet. In this setup the B Flux 1 works very good. It is quiet, once I switch my table saw on I cannot hear the dust collector. The Harvey table saw is a cabinet saw and not loud itself. I have a Laguna jointer and it pulls ALL of the shavings from the dust port, same thing with my Dewalt planer. At 12 feet I can sweep the dust into the dust tube and it picks up ALL of the dust. Do I wish it had more power? Yes, but what it does and how it performs is very good for my shop. I do not regret buying this product; and would recommend it.

Quality entry level dust collector.
I was a little hesitant to pull the trigger on this dust collector because there was really little to no feedback on it anywhere I looked. What sealed the deal for me was the 1 micron filter, the smaller footprint (my shop is 12'x24') and Laguna's reputation for high quality tools.I have had this machine for about three months now and I have no complaints. Assembly was pretty straight forward with surprisingly good directions. The suction is great, it takes up hardly any space (~15"x30") and using the crank on top you can clean the filter after each use quite easily. This is my first DC so I can't really comment on sound, but it's not as loud as I expected. Also for what it's worth, the machine itself is actually quite pleasing to the eye and looks good in the shop.I currently switch back and forth between a 8" jointer and a 13" planer and this thing does great. The suction has been perfect using 12' section of flexible hose but a friend of mine actually has this piped in to a ~25-30' run for his tools with good results. The dust bag is a little tricky at first (like with most of these from what I've seen). You can either wrap a band clamp around the outside of the bag, or using a flexible fabric covered ring you can fix the bag within the drum itself. I haven't tried the band clamp, but the flexible fabric ring has worked great once I got the hang of it.

Good Quality, delivered! Recommended.
I bought this collector because I regard LAGUNA as a quality American machine manufacturer. They also make the highly rated 14BX bandsaw (considered by many to be the best 14" saw), which I purchased at the same time. This dust collector was, at $450, one of the least expensive collectors available. It is also one of the smallest (the only other really small machine I know of is the Oneida Mini-Gorilla, which costs at least 3X as much), which fits well in my small shop. It is NOT very powerful, but it is adequate (I use only one machine at a time). It is also relatively quiet, i.e. probably quieter than most others. I haven't used it much, yet, but I did use it to suck out my tablesaw (I never had dust collection before), and it did a pretty good job. All I had to do was stir the dust up with a stick, and out most of it went! New experience for me! The packing was also very good (I thought "Apple computer," but not quite that good), although the end plug on one base tube was pushed in slightly. So far, so good!I must say the assembly instructions were pretty clear, all parts were present, and assembly easy, taking about an hour. Nothing was too heavy, even for my bad back. At this point I am impressed with its quality, and would certainly recommend this dust collector to a friend with similar, modest dust collection needs.

You get what you pay for!
Very nice fit and finish, excellent quality and easy to assemble. Sure you can buy other small dust collectors for much less, but they don’t compare to this one. This is my third “single machine” dust collector and I wish I just ponied up the extra money years ago. This unit has excellent suction, 1 micron filtration, and is impressively quiet while drawing less than 6 amps on average (yes, I measured it!). After 3 dust collectors and many years as a basement hobbyist, canister filter is the only way to go now, especially if your shop is connected to a living space. I’ve seen a noticeable decrease in the fine dust that settles...it’s practically non-existent now. As long as you understand what you are getting and do your research, you will be very impressed with the B-Flux. If you need “more suction” based on your setup, then buy a more powerful/bigger/louder dust collector! You can’t have a low amperage, quiet, 1500 CFM, small footprint dust collector. It’s not a thing. It’s just science. Know what you need and what you want. If you use the B-Flux as it was intended, one tool at a time with minimal piping, you will be very impressed with its performance just like I was.

Great Design
I have a good sized shop, but really don't have the need for a built-in vacuum system. I am a wood turner who needs to use a vacuum on the lathe to minimize the small dust particles in the air, particularly when sanding. I also need something to suck up the small dust coming off the cutter when using the rose engine lathe. That small dust is so dangerous for the lungs that I really don't want it in the air. This little unit is great. It is small so I can wheel it around to wherever I need to use it, and it has plenty of suction to handle what I need. The design looks good and seems quite solid for something that will be moved around often. And I've read where others have swapped out the casters to be biggers ones, and that would not be a problem on this little guy.

Really sucks
Good product, provides plenty of suction. It is quiet. Easy to assemble. Very pleased. My dust collection has a header pipe with multiple inlets with gates. Just open the gate to that piece of equipment and it provides plenty of suction even at the far end of the system. The recommended amps is 15. The noise level at 10 feet is 72 db as per the manufacturer
