Best cookies ever!
Way better than Oreos! And healthier too. I was happy to discover the mint flavor, though the regular ones are great, as well. It’s a relief to know that there are no harmful, unnecessary ingredients are in these cookies. Yes, they are a little expensive but my body is worth it!

Kind of Disappointing
Disappointed in these cookies. Nice that they're organic, but they could have better taste. The chocolate is not chocolaty enough and the filling, while being pleasantly minty, seems to be missing something. I love that Newman's Own is organic and supports worthy causes, but I prefer Back to Nature's Classic Creme Sandwich Cookies. What I'd really like to find is an organic and gluten-free version of these sandwich cookies . . .

They don’t make ‘em like they used to. What’s up, Newman’s?
I’ve bought these for years and loved them. As many recent reviews state, they are not the same, subpar at best. I’m sad. (Hint: Always check “Most Recent” reviews, not “Top Reviews” to check for situations like this of changed quality over time.)

Thin mint taste-a-likes
Reminds me of the Girl Scout thin mints. We love them!

Don't kid yourself, they are NOT truly organic
The cookies I have seem to be a variation of the ingredient list shown here on Amazon as well as the one mentioned in another review here. Mine has expeller pressed palm kernel oil and sunflower oil (no canola, thank goodness as that stuff - unless specified as organic - can be genetically engineered). Mine also has Peppermint Oil. If they would just ditch the non-organic soy, I'd be liking this. These taste great! I stopped buying Girl Scout cookies when I eliminated foods crammed with gmo ingredients from my daily eating habits. I missed them, but not enough to buy them. When I saw the minty Newman O's, I tried them and LOVED them! They tasted like Girl Scout cookies only better (no slick residue on my tongue from that weird fake chocolate coating those had). I would actually eat them more often except for the fact that they contain soy, and it is NOT specified as Organic Soy, thus I can only assume it's genetically engineered soy, which is not an ingredient I'm comfortable consuming regularly. I'm very disappointed that Newman's has chosen to use that ingredient. It almost seems as if they're exploiting their own organic reputation in selling these cookies. While the recipe indicates a number of organic ingredients, they lack organic - or even Project Non-GMO certification - and thus are just regular cookies with mostly better ingredients than average. It's the sort of weasel-y tactic I'd expect from one of the mainstream "big food" brands. I truly don't get why they are not making the effort to either source non-gmo soy or find another ingredient to use in its place. That's the #1 reason I'll ultimately figure out my own recipe and will no longer buy these. If they were 100% non-gmo I'd be lazy and just keep buying the pre-packaged cookies. My fingers are crossed they'll move in that direction. If they used to use canola oil but now no longer do, perhaps they will get rid of that soy as well.
