Great choice
Quick delivery. Easy to ensemble. Beautiful look. I bought a used one and it really looks like new. Very comfortable and the price was perfect. Highly suggest this item.

Damaged product
The chair came in a flemsy cardboard box that barely appeared big enough to hold the chair with minimal protection and of course, it is damaged, What a disappointment...now I get to go through the hassle of retuning...

Good recliner with drawbacks
This recliner is very comfortable (at least for a small-framed person). However, it has several major drawbacks: 1) The one that was delivered to us has a red stain on ivory lether. I haven't figured out how to remove it yet. This one might be one-off, thou. 2) The colors of different parts of the recliner are slightly different - some slightly darker than others. 3) Beware, that the base has very small contact points for the weight of the recliner. If you put it on the wooden floor as-is, I'm more than sure that it will damage it quite badly - there's simply too much weight for several small contact areas. So make sure there's something below the base - sturdy carpet or so.

Arm assembly made with balsa wood and extremely fragile.
We ordered two of these. They ship in two boxes with the back in one box and the base, arms and seat in a second box. Unfortunately, one of the arms on one chair was seemingly not attached to the chair properly and the manufacturer informed us that they did not have a plant in the US, but all parts came from China and they therefore couldn't send us anything to repair it with, but she sent me a replacement base. At this point, the arms on both chairs, the original and the replacement have separated from the base and are flopping. It's terrifically frustrating as the chairs are otherwise extraordinarily attractive and feature a smaller profile than other recliners we saw. In addition, it's very rare to find a recliner that will swivel, rock and lay flat. This one is also very comfortable, but the mechanics are very stiff and require that you hold onto the arms firmly in order to use your legs to depress the footrest. We've had two female guests and one male guest who were ultimately unable to get the footrest to retract and we had to hoist them up from the chair while it was still in the reclined position. I've now disassembled the broken base and am going to see if there's anyway I can cut some plywood or other wood to reinforce it and then use an assortment of "L" brackets to see if I can reinforce the arms to hold in their intended position. We LOVE the look of these chairs and the fact that they serve as theater seating for us, but then can swivel around to make a nice conversation circle with our sofa. Unfortunately, the interior construction materials are beyond thin and inadequate. When I say the arms are connected with balsa wood, that's literally the case. The vertical support for the arm assembly is less than 1/4" balsa wood that you might expect to see in a children's toy airplane. I was just stunned at the pitiful interior support efforts which include a small number of 1/16" fabric staples... many of which were either completely separated, or which had broken through the thin wood they were supposed to adhere to. The folks at Monarch were terrific and I honestly don't think there's anything they can do from this end as it's just poor manufacturing. I would say that these would be fine if you didn't intend using them, but honestly, we have had them at our weekend house and after fewer than 2 months use, they're out the door and we're biting the bullet and going with a much more substantial Leggett and Platt based product as the lay flat feature is important to us. We will not be able to have the swivel/rocker capability with those, but hopefully, when either we or our guests need to rise up out of them, the arms won't fall off! Color was true to the image, they are very, very comfortable (my husband found them a little narrow for his maximum comfort, but I love them). I'm 5' 9" and about 150 lbs and my husband is about the same height and 175 lbs. We are very careful with our furniture and didn't handle them roughly. Wish we could have left a more positive review... certainly the responsive, intelligent and polite customer service rep at Monarch deserves five stars for her concern and prompt shipment of a replacement base, but unfortunately, that's not resolved our problem with these poorly made chairs. UPDATE: While we now have bought the L&P sturdier lay-flat recliners, I have now taken apart the arms on one of the bases and have managed to essentially rebuild it and they are (for the moment) now usable. In order to get the arm to work and be stable, I gently removed the staples from the edge of the base that secure the black under-cloth and the upholstery fabric. I then gently peeled the upholstery fabric up and away from the side of the arms from the base, but did not remove it entirely. I used a professional grade staple remover and vise grips to do this. The interior supports for the arms and for the areas of the arms where they are supposed to join with the seat and back of the chair were essentially non-existent. In addition to the balsa-like wood that was used, the chair was assembled using only staples. No screws or other attaching materials. In our case, many and in some cases all of the staples were not properly stapled and had partially or completely pulled away. In order to make a secure repair, I used a number of wood shims and those wooden paint stirring sticks you can get at paint stores. I cut those to fit the individual areas of the arms and then fabricated metal "L" brackets from left over inserts for recessed lighting cans. I also purchased small angle brackets and corner support brackets at the hardware store and I then reinforced the broken and flimsy wood areas with the thin, but much stronger wood and over-layed that with the metal and then screwed through all three to create a sort of sandwich. Before pulling the fabric back down and stretching it back into place, I inserted small strips of foam cushioning (in our case I cut strips from an egg crate style mattress pad and used the flat side against the upholstery and the lumpy side facing the wood of the arms). The padding helps to keep the screws and metal plates from showing through the upholstery. I then used an electric staple gun to re-attach the upholstery fabric and at least for the time being, we're going to try to use them. It was a VERY time consuming repair project and especially so as there were so many areas that needed to be reinforced. If you're super patient and very, very handy... it's at least theoretically possible to essentially rebuild these. In my opinion, most people with the patience, but not a pretty good bit of experience with carpentry and tools, or people who have tools and experience, but are short on patience.... going with a more expensive and sturdier chair is still going to be your better call.

Fantastic chair
I ordered this chair in Ivory. I was a bit hesitant to order furniture online but the chair turned out to be fantastic. I love that it rocks, reclines, and swivels. And it is very comfortable. The only challenge I had was with the freight company that delivered the box as they did not come at the appointment time which was during work hours.
