Very nice item that works well. The photos on Amazon are upside-down from the actual installation position. The valve is straight up when turned off and you move it counter-clockwise to begin water flow and increase the temperature. There are markings on the face place to indicate this usage that are not shown on the Amazon picture. There is a "0" at 12 O'Clock and "HOT" at 9 O' Clock and small "Hansgrohe" branding at 6 O' Clock. You need the iBox 01850181 Universal Rough for this. No way around that. When you buy the rough, Amazon offers you an installation option by a local installer. Amazon's estimate for install was lower than typical hourly rate for a plumber, so consider that before you buy.

We had to redo the rough and finish plumbing in our shower, so the work was done by a plumber. My only complaint is the the handle moves so easily that it is easy to accidentally change the temperature. I don't know if this is normal or how it was installed. Otherwise it is great to have a functioning shower. The plumber was shocked at how low the price was for this brand. Way more if you buy locally.

We really like this faucet. Fit and finish are flawless, and it works flawlessly as well. However, there is one thing about its design that can be a potential hazard. If you are using it with a handheld shower (as we are), and the shower and faucet are on the same wall (as ours are), ** BE CAREFUL ** when you return your shower head to its bracket. Because Hot on this faucet is with the lever in the up position, if you accidentally loop the handheld hose behind the faucet's handle, you can inadvertently turn the faucet to full hot when you return the shower head to its bracket. If your back happens to be turned the first time this happens, you will know in a hurry as scalding hot water hits your back.

I am very pleased with the way it looks and functions. There is no volume control only temperature control and I find it very easy to adjust. I considered buying the more expensive model with the separate thermostat control feature, but I am happy with this model

Looks great. We are using it with our Grohe shower head. Looks high end and easy to use and install.

This is a great buy for the money. An absolute breeze to install into the universal kit. Make sure to put some plumber's grease on the o-ring when installing. Also, I had to adjust the temperature stop slightly so that the water would get appropriately hot. The installation instructions are well written and easy to follow. Why buy a POS at a big box store when you can get this solid piece of plumbing for the same price? Very well built.

I love Hansgrohe's minimal and modern design but unfortunately it was too challenging to install in our older duplex built in 1976. We thought we could tackle a bath renovation by ourselves but as it is with older structures, we came across hidden issues and were unable to fit the universal valve (purchased for this shower handle) into the wall. It was simply too large and would have required us redoing the entire wall. I highly recommend consulting a plumber prior to purchasing bathroom, in particular shower/bath tub fixtures. We ended up returning the product and purchasing a more cost-effective and generic model from Kohler.
