Heatilator / Heat n Glo Factory Gas Fan Replacement Control Module 4021-708

The fan control stopped working in my Heatilator gas fireplace. Thought it was the fan but pressing the test button on the fan control , and the fan working fine, had to be something in the controller. It’s a pain to replace but everything is working fine now.

Perfect, We bought the house 1 years ago and never really looked at the gas stove, I knew the blower not working and I checked to see if I could get it running and it would run only when I bypassed the module. Finally I decided to get it fixed and after a few minutes installing it using my previous module as a guide, it worked great. It turns on the blower after a set time and turns it off after a set time after the has fireplace is turned off. Not sure how well the blower will heat upstairs but it keeps the downstairs just right.

This was an exact replacement for my fan controller, easy to replace and worked great.

Saved me a service call.

This unit has been working well for several months now ... BUT the manufacturer certainly is NOT very helpful re. HOW specifically the unit is to operate, and it took some DIGGING on the Internet to (hopefully) figure out how to "calibrate" the blower speed.

This control module was the same as the one I replaced. The only difference was that it had been a newer version. Easy to replace. Just swapped each wire out matching the wire color at each connection point. I now have blower speed control again. The original controller would only run at full speed or off.

We noticed the blower in our fireplace wasn't coming on. After looking into a local repair place who charged $175 just to show up, I decided to see if I could figure out the problem. With the help of a few YouTube videos I found that our fireplace didn't have a heat sensor but this box functioned as a timer, starting the blower after 7 minutes and stopping after 12 minutes. There's a test button on the box, when pressed the blower came on, but never started from the timer. So problem found, part ordered. It arrived quickly and I was able to install it in the matter of minutes (longest part was turning off the correct circuit breaker). Fireplace is now back in full service.
