Carbonic XXL 36″ x 13″ x 1/8″ Desk Mat

This is a wide mat with a narrow depth - perfect for those who have various clutter on their desk, but need a work surface for a keyboard and mouse. The top of the mat is charcoal gray & black twill on the bias with black trim around the edges. I have noticed no stray threads and all the seams are very secure. The backing grips quite well and the work surface is smooth and slick. I have a vintage Kitchener desk and this mat looks very good on it, modern, but unobtrusive. The mat laid down flat immediately after being unrolled and it does not curl up at the edges.I do have one caveat, the surface is not acceptable for writing on a single sheet of paper unless you use a backing surface. The pen or pencil point pokes through the paper as the surface is simply too soft. This is such a minor concern, for me, but could be an issue if you make lots of handwritten notes while you work.I use this mat for about ten hours everyday in conjunction with a wireless keyboard and wireless optical mouse. The surface of the mat provides enough grip that the keyboard never moves when typing, but I can lift the keyboard and place it in a new location easily. The wide surface of the mat is nice and roomy for using a mouse, such as, when playing video games or filling out forms. I have noted no wear on the surface of the mat, but I have only been using this mat for approximately two months.

NOTE: NOT WATERPROOF. Because of the 'rubber' component in this mat, it might be assumed that it blocks water, but it doesn't. In fact, it may trap moisture beneath it, ruining wooden surfaces. Fortunately, I noticed this right away and use a coaster for any cold drinks sitting on my desk.I am not a gamer, so cannot comment on this experience.I don't use a mouse, so can't comment on the mouse tracking, either.It's slightly smaller than the advertised dimensions, but not by more than a quarter inch, so it probably won't make a difference to most purchasers.I bought this because I was looking for a rubberized surface to even out the surface of my older wooden desk. It fails a bit there, but since it's not advertised for that, I don't hold that against it. I think my theory was flawed.I do snack at my desk and have noticed that it could use a bit of cleaning, but haven't been through that, yet. I'm hoping it cleans easily. (updated below)So, with all of this non-positive stuff, why did I give it 4 stars? Because this is nitpicky stuff. Overall:- It's a fantastic surface for my keyboard.- The cloth surface is comfortable against my forearms.- It looks really sharp and gives my desk a bit of class, what with the carbon patterned weave and the stitched edging.I really do love it.In fact, its so nice, my wife is purchasing one for her desk. She does use a mouse, so maybe she can comment on that. :)UPDATES FOR MARCH 2018:I’ve now had this for 3 years. It has held up great, receiving almost daily use. I’ve cleaned it a couple of times. Just ran it through the washing machine and allowed it to drip dry. No fuss, no muss.I often charge my devices at my computer, and this is a nice surface for them to lay on. When an alert sends my phone vibrating, it's not a harsh vibration.The surface is also slick, allowing you to move things around easily, but the rubber feed of my keyboard and trackpad hold these securely.In addition to the stuff above, I’ve noticed that it muffles (doesn’t eliminate) much of the sounds of my desktop; typing, phone vibrations, mug placement, etc. This turned out to be a huge plus as my office is right over the downstairs bedroom, and my wife often goes to bed earlier than me.Bottom line, when this thing finally goes, I will definitely consider buying a new one if these are still available.

I have a small desk, 30" x 15" this fits neatly on it and has solved more than mouse tracking problems. It's comfortable all round. Makes a decent surface for writing on and it's quiet. Not stressed about a coaster for coffee cup, nor small spills. Spill something on it, wash with like colors on delicate or 'easy wash' and lay flat to dry. I wouldn't put this in the dryer.And the cats adore it.

Hands down the best track pad I have purchased. It is so smooth to the touch and I do not receive any wrist burns from gaming for long periods of time (cannot speak for others). It fits my desk perfectly and there is plenty of room for both mouse and keyboard. I have one for work and for home. I highly recommend this product compared to let's say, Razer.I have owned a Razer mouse track pad for about 4 years and in those 4 years I had to buy a wrist-like pad to avoid wrist burns. Prior to this solution. the ball near my wrist was always red, tender, and after an intense day of gaming it would occasionally peel. The Carbonic Tracpad solves that issue. I have owned 2 pads for a little over 6 months now and I could not be happier.

Have to say that this desk mat is top notch. The material is very smooth and the mouse just glides over the surface. It looks and feels very premium. I could do without the garish logo in the corner, but that's a minor complaint.

The surface is every bit as good as I've come to expect from XTracPads (awesome and smooth), but two weeks in and the edges are already frayed! It sits motionless on my desk, and I pretty much never touched the edges where it frayed; so it must have come like that from the factory. But it's such a good mousepad that I'm sticking with it.

I bought the Large version of this same pad and I love it.Pros: nice soft fabric to rest on, Easy to clean, works amazing with my Steelseries rival 100 mouse, keeps my Keyboard in its spot no problems with it moving, it's huge so your mouse space is unlimitedCons: the logo in the corner starts to chip off over time I've had a smaller version and it never did that. don't know what they changed but it shouldn't detour you from an amazing pad

I've had this mat for over a year, and I like it very much. After a year of use, I hardly notice any wear at all. To clean, I just get a damp towel and scrub, which makes it look almost new again.
