Can an advanced replacement filter be used with this once installed?

Yes. Standard, Advanced or Maximum will fit the same system (3US Models -- 3USMAX-S01, 3US-PS01 & 3US-AS01)Have been using ours for years and have used each type of filter. Just make certain that the version you choose filters out what you need it to remove. (Better late than never. Am answering for anyone else who may have the same question)

can this be used with a bathroom sink?

Yes, as long as the connections match and there is an ample amount of space below the sink.

what is the difference between standard and advanced system?

Is this compatible with a separate water filter faucet, or will this work only with the standard kitchen faucet?

The standard installation routes the cold water supply to the fixture through the filter. If you have a separate water filter installed on the faucet, aside from it being redundant, I think it will work.
