To be honest, I was not excited about the $22 price tag and almost passed these by. I initially only ordered one for my son because he’s not good about leaving hats on so I hoped the chin strap would keep the hat in place a little better. Once it arrived and he tried it on, I immediately ordered one for my daughter to wear on our upcoming beach vacation. The hats are a cute design with fun bright colors, well made, have a highly functional and sturdy chin strap, and are constructed of lightweight and comfortable materials. Both of my kids’ heads measured 20.5” which is the tail-end of the medium size, but because of the price and my hope to get some use out of them for multiple years I decided to order both hats in a size large. The hats are a still a little big but aren’t falling down into their faces either. And if the chin strap is used, will stay in place just fine even on a breezy day. So happy to have found a great quality sun protection product that my kids are excited to use!

This is my second time buying a hat for my son from this company and in this specific style. We started off with their smallest size and we are now buying the medium for this summer. This hat will fit as expected just measure and go within the size of your child's head. Don't try and buy a size up because these are made to fit within the size range they provide on the site. The quality is great, the colors are vibrant and the draw string around the chin keeps it on and in place. Sure it too my son a bit to get used to but once he realized the sun was in his eyes without it he let it be. It has SPF and will protect your child's face and neck. That doesn't mean you should not put sun screen on because as your child looks up or in certain directions some of their face/neck will be exposed to the sun. So still wear sun screen but you'll be asked by other on lookers about that cute hat!

I do not write many reviews; but this hat is great! My 18 month old grandson is very fair with sensitive eyes and wears glasses. The hat fits snuggly enough to stay on his head comfortably and shades the face and neck well. When reversed and the drawstring is on the outsidethe flaps stay down over the ears which is nice when it is very windy on th ebeach or boat. Does not obstruct view or flop down over the eyes. The material is nice and cool and dries quickly. I am back to order one in green... also the size chart was perfect.

There is a giant white tag that becomes visible if you use the hat on the solid-color side (the side most would prefer to look at), so took off one star for having to remove that. My 2-year-old is totally fascinated by the drawcord mechanism and wants to practice doing it himself, though it's not really doable for him. Not sure the cord will be rugged enough for toddler life, but the hat fabric seems strong and well-made, This has a very wide brim if you're looking for that. This seems to be a pretty decent purchase all around, though slightly expense compared to other brands.

When I first opened these hats I thought they would be way too big and my kids wouldn't keep them on. I was wrong- they were perfect! My son picked the sharks and my daughter picked turtles (Would be nice if not categorized separately as "boy" and "girl" hats. The same hats listed as " girl" hats only had flowers. Girls like blue and green and fun ocean animals too!) The sun coverage was perfect for the kids on the beach and covered the back of their necks. The strap was great especially on windy days. I got a large for my 4 year old and a medium for my 2 year old. Both were a great fit with a little room to grow. We have purchased many hats over the years for our beach vacations and these have been our favorite by far.

The hat is reversible, but we only wear it on the navy side. Not sure if the knotted ends of the chin strap would irritate my son if we flipped it inside out. The hat is lightweight and comfortable. I like that the top portion is a thinner, more breathable material and that the brim is thicker so it offers more protection against the sun.

So far this has been a really great hat for summer. I recommend measuring your kid's head in advance to get the sizing right as it seems to run a little big. The large fits loosely on my 4 year old's head- but he has a large noggin. I really like the design, durability, the draw string, and the fact that it has a UPF rating. It is a well made hat and soft fabric. My son is extremely fair and needs good coverage. He has worn it in the pool and it also drys quickly. Overall I am very happy with this purchase.

I bought one of these hats for my son when he was younger and he wore it for four years! Held up beautifully to sun, pool water, ocean water, wind and the washer! Protected his fair skin perfectly! I just bought a larger size that’ll like it get him through a few more years! The designs are super cute and modern and the toggle tie under the neck is a huge bonus. Absolutely recommend! You won’t be disappointed!
