This is really easy to get into, and kind of infectious once you start. This kalimba actually arrives as a full set including a little instruction book, a metal tuning hammer, an instructions booklet explaining how to tweak the tuning, and a book with some example songs to play. I actually bought this at the same time as a (separate) beginners book of kalimba christmas tunes, and I'd highly recommend this. The xmas themed songs are really simple and memorable and gave an easy but satisfying pay off, learning something so familiar. I've added a video showing how easy it is to get started, especially with a book that breaks the songs down into the numbers that are clearly labelled by being embossed on the keys i.e 1,1,5,5,6,6,5. 4,4,3,3,2,2,1. Give that a try! The Kalimba itself came pre-tuned and seemed to be properly on-key, the wood is smoothly finished with good build quality, decent laser engraving. It's light enough to comfortably hold while reaching the keys with thumbs, while still being large enough to play with other fingers if you keep on it a desktop, which I found was easiest when still learning from the book. Good clean fun.

Sounds great, my kids and I have been playing with it for about 6 hours alreadt. Sound is great but quite rigid, you can’t ask more for £10 really.

fab value. I also have a more expensive one which has a superior richer sound and build quality. You get what you pay for. I still use this at my sound baths.

I love a kalimba. I first saw it on Moon and Me (CBeebies program) and my son is very sensitive to sound so we bought him this. Its a pleasure to listen to him playing random stuff on this. Most other kids toys are harsh and annoying but this is lovely when anyone plays with it. Neither of my boys are particularly gentle with their stuff so it gets knocked out of tune fairly regularly but its easy enough to tune again.

My neighbour bought one so I copied him. I think these are good value and fun. Limited musically, although that is most likely my skills.

Very fun to learn and play. I first saw a video on YouTube and thought I needed one a so I ordered one and thought it was great. I’ve had fun playing it. Great for minecraft music.

Good for beginners, lightweight and good value - however mine did not come with tuning hammer as advertised :(
