Best Nail Clippers I've Ever Owned
I purchased one of these approximately seven years ago. I bought it because I have extremely strong fingernails and toenails, and I like having the wide jaw for clipping the toenails. Since then, it has worked beautifully, and is still sharp. It has truly been worth paying more than buying a cheap, weak, dull pair at the drugstore. Then I met my significant other. He had his own clippers, but one day discovered that mine were infinitely better. He kept using them, but wouldn't put them back where I kept them. Call me anal retentive, but dagnabbit, when I need to trim my nails, I want my clippers! not running around, hunting them down. And, well... I'm a tad more fungiphobic than most, so I felt he really needed his own. His clipper is just as good as mine. The quality has not changed. They do well in barbicide. No rusting. The hollow receptacle in the handle holds nail clippings well; just shake them out or rap the clippers on the counter. They are very sharp, so be careful. The only improvement I could suggest is to include an attached file/pick to get the leftover white grungies.

Comparison Mehaz to Another Top rated Toenail Clipper (Seki Edge)
I purchased the Mehaz 668 Toenail clipper because I wasn't totally satisfied with one of the perennial top rated toenail clipper (Seki Edge). Here is my comparison findings: 1) Sharpness- both clippers are made in Japan, a country well renowned for producing sharp, high quality blades. Both brands are equally, exquisitely sharp. Both cut without shredding or needing to file your nails. 2) Ease of Use / Preciseness of Cuts- Seki is uses a plastic lever which tends to be slippery while Mehaz's lever is silicon coated which result in very little slippage. No slippage means no re-positioning of the blade and cuts tend to be more precise. 3) Jaw Opening- see comparison picture. It's hard to appreciate the difference in the picture but Mehaz has 1-2 mm larger jaw opening. This doesn't sound like much but this probably represents a 30% wider mouth which translates to a huge difference for thick nails or even normal thick nails in terms of ease in positioning the clipper underneath the nail bed. I definitely noticed the difference. 4) Ingrown Toenails- Mehaz's straight slanted blade is better for precise, up close cuts that prevent nails on the edge to grow in a curved fashion ( that cuts into the toe flesh when walking-- ouch). 5) Nail Catcher- this is the one category that Seki Edge "has the edge". Sadly Mehaz skimmed on the design. With Mehaz, on the left side of the clipper the nail guard (catcher) extends to the tip of the blade but on the right side because the guard does not extend to tip of the blade there is a large opening that ejected nail clippings will fly through (see pictures comparing the left vs right side of the clipper). On the other hand, Seki's nail guard goes all the way to the top on both sides. As a result, Seki catches ~ 80-90% of the nails while Mehaz catches only ~ 60-70%. SUMMARY: With the exception of the issue of the nail catcher, I found the Mehaz to be a superior product with respect to sharpness, preciseness of cuts, ease of use and a surprisingly better cutting experience due to a larger jaw opening. Sadly I subtracted one star due to a "less than stellar" nail catcher but if this is not a priority for you then this will still be a 5 star product for you.

Excellent 'investment'
This clipper has been excellent and I won't be going back to cheap drug-store clippers ever again. Like most people (I assume...), I can go through several nail clippers a year, either because they break or because I lose them. I also generally buy larger toenail clippers because my fingernails are thick, and the smaller nail clippers made for hands are wholly inadequate. They are pricier than normal clippers, but considering the rate at which I lose/break cheap ones, these probably pay for themselves within a year. Additionally, although I never used emery boards before, I've found the nail file on this clipper to be very good (considering that it is metal, and my nails are pretty hard). The clipper feels and is very heavy duty, and I don't feel like I'm going to break it like many others. Hopefully gone are the days of the upper piece popping off and falling into the toilet while I clip toenails. Oh, I should mention that they work great on both my fingernails and toenails. The "clipping catcher" advertised on this clipper does not really catch many clippings, although finger/toe nails do not go flying about as much as they did with the cheaper ones. Regardless, I say buy these -- you'll appreciate spending a little extra on something that will last much longer and do a much better job.

Excellent toenail clippers - for THICK toenails.
My toenails have become extremely thick. The jaws of standard fingernail or toenail clippers would not open wide enough to clip my toenails. I feared I would have to buy some pliers (diagonal cut Kleins) to trim my toenails. My podiatrist's office suggested a couple of medical supply stores, but to no avail. I did some web searches and luckily found these Mehaz toenail clippers. From their description I had a sense that they would work well, so I ordered two. This product is great! For the first time since my toenails got thick, I have been able to easily trim them! My toenails were getting scary long .... frightening the kids! :) The clipper's cutting surface (which is very sharp) is straight ... not curved like the smaller fingernail clippers. I like it straight. It provides more control. The cutting lever is strong/solid, allowing you to apply sufficient pressure to cut through thick nails. The blue plastic covering makes the clippers comfortable to use. These clippers are a little wider and are longer than standard fingernail or toenail clippers. This increased size is helpful, because it makes them easier to control. BOTTOM LINE: These Mehaz clippers are great! They easily trim thick toe nails! They are rugged, and will last! I'm glad I bought two! I would definitely recommend these clippers to anyone with thick toenails!

Easy to use, highly recommend
I love these clippers. With other clippers I have a hard time holding on to them. With these they are easy to hold on to and easy to use. This is my second pair. The first pair I used them so much the spring back action broke. Was happy to find them here. The price is very good compared to the first pair I bought at Sally's. Highly recommend

Does the job very well
I saw these on the amazon.com site and wanted to get them because of all the good reviews it received. I saw them on amazon.co.uk so got them here. I have large thick toe nails so these are perfect for me, they feel of high quality, the blade is 100% straight (which is what they should be according to the experts.) It is very sharp, when you cut it takes very little effort. Compared to the ones I had that i got in boots which broke, these are far superior. The only thing i would say is that the metal bit on the handle that connects to the main part is not as thick as I would have liked, it looks quite similar or only slightly better than the one i broke, so there is potential for it to break if you are careless with it or drop it from quite high. If you are careful though it is worth it, because i don't see how the product could cut nails better. I am still gonna give it 5 as im very happy with it, but just letting people know.

One of the best
Sufficiently big, sharp and with sure grip. By my opinion only the similar Seki Edge clippers are in competition with this one. I recommend this item

Perfect for Thick Nails
Wider jaws than all of the other clippers that are available (4mm opening - usually 2mm). These clippers are sharp and strong. The one slight niggle is that the plastic cover pulls away from the metal clip when cutting harder nails. Nevertheless these are the best clippers that I have ever owned.
