These are so much better than the original. I love the wrist protection!!!
I have three different pairs of Schiek lifting gloves. The thing I love about these gloves (as well as two of my other pairs of the Schiek 715 lifting gloves) is the fins on the fingers. If you sweat during your workout as I do, these would be nearly impossible to take off after a workout without those fins. The other pair of Schiek gloves my wife bought (at my direction) does not have the fins, and I could not get them off very easily. When I first got them, I thought the wrist wrap was a little overkill. But the thing that frustrated me about the 715s is that when the Velcro wears out, you cannot keep the wrist strap secured. So the 540 not only velcros initially, but you wrap your wrist twice, and it velcros very securely. With my 715s, I need to wash them every so often due to the smell. When you wash them, it breaks down the Velcro. Hopefully, I don't have to wash these 540s. The fit is PERFECT. The Quality is unmatched. The wrist support provides enough protection and still gives you a good range of motion for doing pushups, mountain climbers, burpees, and manmakers without any discomfort. I was concerned that the wrist strap would almost cover my Apple Watch. But I haven't run into any issues yet. These are worth the extra money over the "other" brands because of everything I listed above. It doesn't matter if you are a weightlifter, crossfitter, TRX instructor (as I am), or a HIIT participant...Buy them. You will not be disappointed.

Best weight glove I've had
I've had these for a couple years now. There's a small thread fraying/unstitching at the edge of one of the fingers, but everything else is intact still. I had been using them 3-4 times per week, down to 1-2 because of work now. The palm wear isn't frayed, just a little discolored because of the grips on the bars. Good palm cushion still. Straps still sticky, just a little frayed velcro. The finger pulls are just brilliant. I'll probably buy these from now on. Just a super glove.

Just buy them, you’ll be glad you did.
These are the only gloves I’ll buy. The last pair lasted 7 years and could probably last for another 1-2 if I didn’t get this new pair for Christmas. They take a couple workouts to stretch out so the initial fit is a little snug. Wrist wraps are great. Very durable even with aggressive grip bars. The gel pads are great, not too thin, not too thick. Getting them off with the finger fins is great too. Get these, you’ll be glad you did.

Serious Weight Lifting Gloves
The Schiek 540 Platinum Lifting Gloves are for those who are serious about getting the most out of their weight training. Expertly made, high quality leather and the perfect amount of padding. Excellent fit. The wrist wraps hold the wrists securely as to prevent any stress on the joints. I have tried less expensive lifting gloves in the past, and they are basically hand coverings. Definitely worth the price and with a 1 year warranty.

Quality gloves, but no longer made in the USA.
I've been weightlifting for the past ten years and have used gloves by Harbinger, Valeo, and Schiek. In my experience, Schiek gloves are the most durable. They tell you not to dry them, but I always throw my gloves in the dryer and they hold up fine - although they did shrink half a size the first time I tumble dried them. The padding is generous and thick and they work well for heavy lifting, although they are a bit too bulky for casual lifting. I have two pairs of gloves - some lightweight Valeos when I'm training to get trim, and the 540 Schieks when I am going through a heavy lifting cycle to build muscle. If you're not callus-prone and you don't typically lift very heavy weights, you will probably find these gloves stiff, bulky, and restrictive. You would be better off getting a lighter, lower-end glove. If you power lift, however, these gloves are among the best. They offer the most stability and protection and the wrist wraps are first class and go a long way in preventing injury. Now, why did I deduct one star? Part of the reason I preferred Schiek over the other brands was because they proudly proclaimed that all of their training merchandise is made in WI, USA. I didn't mind paying a little extra to help save domestic labor. Although they still manufacture the wrist straps and back braces in the US, Schiek now makes their gloves in Pakistan. Schiek's website has been a little deceitful about the outsourcing. Their website formerly said, "All Schiek products are made in the USA," but now when you visit their website, they write, "Most Schiek products are made in the USA." They fail to mention that one of their most popular items, the lifting gloves, are now manufactured overseas. Note that the Schiek gloves are still some of the most expensive amateur lifting gloves you can buy, so it isn't like Schiek's letting us in on the discount. I ordered these gloves after my old gloves fell apart after using them regularly for five years. I didn't even think about it - the glove looked the same with the big ol' American flag and the "made in USA" emblazoned all over the website. You can imagine my dismay and surprise when I received these gloves and found "made in Pakistan" on the tag. A quick inspection of the gloves shows the quality to be the same, but I probably won't know until a few years later if the quality really is identical to my old Schiek gloves. Case in point, these are still good lifting gloves, but for fellow long-time customers (and new potential ones) of Schiek gloves, you can find gloves of comparable quality by Valeo and Harbinger for $10-20 cheaper and they're all made overseas now, so what's the difference?

Best gloves I've ever had
Best gloves I've ever had. To help you take them off, they use folds above the knuckles, made form the same thick and robust material as the cloves, instead of flimsy little loops that break every time after a year or too. It's a game changer.

Good quality, not made in USA
These gloves seem to be built well so time will tell how they last. If they are still around in a year I will come back and give another star. Some reviewers have said this but I am going to echo it. They are VERY thick. This is fine for pressing exercises but causes me to have to adjust my grip a lot for all pulling (pull-ups, rows, pull-downs, etc). If you are using something that already has a larger diameter bar or grip these might be a problem for you especially if you have a smaller hand like I do. One other thing to consider is that these are synthetic leather. My experience with synthetic anything working out is that they get to stinking much quicker. I have to wash these every other week. Leather gloves I have used never really got nasty smelling. All this said I would have given 3 stars. I have dropped it down because Schiek makes a big deal about "made in America". American flag on the wrist strap. These are pretty pricey gloves but many, like me, are willing to pay more for folks in this country to put it together. Well, they aren't made in this country which makes them way too expensive. ***Update*** As promised, it has been a year. They have lasted well and I gave another star. Everything else stated in my review is still true. They do require washing about every other week because, as stated, they start stinking. **********3rd Update*********** I have given it 5 starts from 3 stars. Reason? These really last a long time. After 5+ years, finally going to order another pair.

Too thick and thin padding
The Good - It's a VERY well made glove. Add some fingers and they'd be good gloves for heavy construction. I loved the fins on the backs of the fingers made it very easy to pull off. The Bad- this glove is TOO thick and over built. Hard to grip barbell. Very stiff. Maybe they'd break in after a while but I need some gloves NOW! Also one of the reasons I use gloves when lifting is I need padding in my palms and especially between my index finger and thumb. Surprisingly enough as well as this glove is made there is not much padding on the palms. It felt like super thick heavy fingerless leather gloves. I have been using cheap Chinese workout gloves that have more gell padding in the palm! So because of the thick leather that made the gloves feel very tight on my hands (I even ordered XL) and the thin padding on the palms I had to return them. I didn't wanna use them and then could in good conscience return them. So I returned them in new condition because I just don't think they will work for me.

Great gloves!
This is my second pair of these gloves. The first ones lasted for many years and just plane wore out. I really like the wrist wraps. The finger fins make taking the gloves off much easier.

I give only 3 stars because of the size. I buy S for my girlfriend but is good for me even if I check the instructions for this size. So if you need to buy this product choose one size less than normal. Otherwise it is a good product.
