Spray Rubber Sealant Coating, Waterproof, Blue, 14 oz, 1-Pack

I used the Flex Seal on my 21 year old GMC pickup truck where when it rained it would leak the rain water at the driver side of the windshield. I tried taping around the rubber or plastic seal that the glass is set in, but still leaks. Then I saw a Flex Seal commercial on tv and the video up first was sealing a windshield with the "clear" type of Flex seal. After taping all around the windshield with blue painters tape, as you don't want any spray getting on the painted part, I put 3 coats of the "clear" Flex Seal above and below the windshield's rubber seal. Wait about 4 to 6 hours between applying the coats of the Flex Seal. I tested the seal this morning with my water hose...... NO LEAKS ANY WHERE !!!! THIS STUFF WORKS !!!!!! Thank you AMAZON FLEX SEAL IS A WINNER !!!!!!

I purchased this 14 oz can of white Flex Seal to repair some cracks on my popup camper’s roof after I accidentally backed into a tree. I was worried about the damage, but this product ended up being the perfect solution for the situation. It went on very easily, and I’ve been impressed with how well it holds up; after 34 days, there are absolutely no signs of peeling or poor adhesion. Most importantly, I haven't seen a single leak from the repaired spot since I applied it. It’s also incredibly discreet, as I can hardly even see where the damage was anymore. It worked perfectly to hide and fix my mistake, and I’m very satisfied with how it turned out.

It works but is not 100% clear

While not perfect for every application, Flex Seal actually does what it advertises. After reading a lot of the one star reviews, I can see there are a lot of problems with the way people are spraying the product on as well as issues with what is expected. Here are a few tips to get you the best results you can out of a product like this (there are many and they are all basically the same) 1. Choose the right kind of Flex Seal. This may seem obvious but there are several kinds of flex seal and they are all used for different things. I. First, the rubber patch/tape is used for large cracks and or holes where you have full access to the area around it. The tape is very thick and can sometimes be unruly. Lay it flat out, cut it, and then roll it while keeping tension on or slap it on like in the commercial. Do not think you are going to move it around and reposition it. You won't. It's a one shot deal for best results. The tape, size to be at least 3-4 times bigger than the hole you are trying to close up. The tape can handle the most pressure in the product line. You must have enough surface area for the tape to get a good grip around the hole if you plan for it to take any kind of real pressure. II. The roll-on stuff is great for large coverage where you want to get fancy putting on thicker and thinner coats here and there. It applies like a sticky paint. I would say that the paint is the most "accurate" because you will use a roller or a brush to put it on and you can make sharp lines, stuff more material in gaps really easily, and handle uneven surfaces nicely. III. The spray is for quick easy jobs as is the weakest under pressure. It's great for sealing things like sky lights, thin plastic objects, joints on gutters etc. Anything that won't see a lot pressure behind it. It's harder to put on thick, but if you apply it like spray paint you can do amazing things with it. Thin, even coats, in a sweeping motion, over and over again and you can cover just about anything. IV. The flex seal one shot caulking is really just like almost any rubber/silicon caulk. I've only used it once and was not all that impressed so I tend to stay away from this one and use 3M stuff instead. 2. Pick the right color for your application. The Clear does NOT stay clear. It has a tendency to turn yellow in the sun. If you don't mind that, or won't expose to sun or much light, then the clear is fine, however, I usually stick to white or black. PRO TIP: You CAN mix the colors of the roll-on to make different levels of gray. I am sure Flex Seal would frown but it works for me. It takes a lot of churning to get it all mixed and not streaky. Your mileage may vary. 3. Use for the right jobs. Don't expect this to seal high pressure water or stop a leak in a tire. There are limits to its flexibility too. When you can, seal from the inside AND the outside. Use the tape whenever possible as it works the "best" of the products and is insanely tough. 4. A little goes a short way. It doesn't cover as much area as you would think. Always get extra. 5. Using a screen door in the commercials wasn't an accident. When covering a large area, stick a screen type material to the area and screw it in place. Then use flex seal to cover the gaps in the screen. Use many coats, go slow and the kind of gimmick you see in the commercial is possible. If you cut a 4 inch by 4 inch hole in something, don't expect flex seal alone to seal it. Use a backing material. 6. If you are getting bubbles in the flex seal spray you are putting it on too thick. Relax. Put on thinner coats and apply slower. Give it a few minutes to get tacky, then retry. 7. Final PRO TIP: CLEAN THE APPLICATION SURFACE. This one is a no brainer, but over and over again I read about people not doing the prep work. Using de-natured alcohol is best if you can. It leaves no residue and on a clean surface like that it makes Flex Seal stick like you wouldn't believe. This is the most important thing other than choosing the right kind of flex seal to use IMHO. Good luck! P.S. One more thing you can do is use painters tape or the like to cover from over-spray. Really if you treat it like a super thick paint, most of the same principles apply.

Flex Seal is a bit pricey, in my opinion, but I have not seen a better product for sealing leaks. I live in a poorly maintained travel trailer I bought new in 2017, so 9 years later, the roof is starting to find ways to let the rain in. This stuff does the job for me. I will always keep a can on hand for emergencies.

This review isn't really testament for sealing roofs, or screen doors against water. I purchased this to use more as a "rubberizing" and water barrier sealing spray. I wanted to use it to seal some raw steel to protect and prevent it from rusting out in the garden. So far it's done it's job of sealing out water, but it also looks like plastic coated metal, rather than metal with a clear coat. I'm going to leave it for now to see how long it prevents rust, but eventually plan to remove it and try something else that looks more natural. Some other things I wish I had known before buying that might be helpful to you: > It does NOT have a "delicate" nozzle tip. When you spray this, it sprays out fast and hard. There's not much "feathering" you can do. > As it sprays, some of the overspray will turn into little airborne rubber "floaters" that have a tendency to drift much farther than just regular over-spray. It's almost like little gossamer web tendrils. So make sure you take this into account. > There are other spray rubber products that are available that act much more like spray paint. They are meant to coat and not really seal with the tenacity of this Flex Seal. — That's not to say that Flex Seal, doesn't do what it's advertised to do — I'm just saying that if you're looking for something to use to create a smooth rubberized coating on something, you might be better off with a different product, Like Krylon. > the price was better for this than other rubber coating sprays, (which I have not had much luck finding in my local Home Depot or Lowes stores) >As a water sealer for cracks — I also tried to use this on a large, clear plastic rain gauge that had developed some small cracks, resulting in a slow leak. I sprayed several coats of the flex seal on it. It didn't work. And because it doesn't have a very smooth or fine spray, it went on with such a dimpled effect, that I couldn't read the numbers through it. Maybe it works on roofs and turning screen doors into boat keels, but it didn't work for me for sealing small cracks to prevent the force of a couple ounces of water at bay. It might have been different had I tried to spray it into the inside of the rain gauge. But seriously, thing about it... you're just not going to have any kind of permanant effect on a roof repair, for instance. As a stop-gap measure, maybe.

Best product I ever purchased. I have used it several times and it works great. No more leak. We had a severe thunderstorm today and not one leak. Highly recommend

I love this stuff. I need to order four more cans. I am spraying my stock tank to turn it into pool seal all the small holes and crevices. This stuff works like magic. I’m also gonna put a liner in it, but the whole exterior will be spray painted in this flexseal.
