XIM 11072 Latex X-Tender Flow and Leveling Additive, 1-Quart (Fоur Paсk)

Using Sherwin-Williams Pro Classic and a Purdy brush on a smooth, primed, piece of wood laying flat, this product did not help with leveling. Did not help thining the paint slightly and using this product.Floetrol works better to reduce brush marks or apply smoother coats of primer, plus Floetrol has no unusual odor. XIM has an ammonia smell to it and does not work as well for me as a leveling agent, using the recommended amount.In my tests, XIM did retain the gloss of gloss Sherwin-Williams Pro Classic, whereas Floetrol turned the gloss Pro Classic into a semi-gloss, or even less gloss if paint is slightly reduced with water.My goal is to find the optimal water based paint setup for trim using a fine finish airless sprayer, in consideration of cleanup, environmental and remodel type interior work.So far, Floetrol and a small amount of water added to the Premium Wall and Window Primer is a clear winner - smooth, easy sanding, fast dry and good control with a 0.10 tip. Trim looks nice as a semi-gloss too.I will try the XIM a bit more to see if it works with a combination of brushed paint and foam roller to spread as a final coat - if that works, I'll upgrade the stars on this review. I like the ability to retain gloss, however the odor of it worries me about how it affects the paint over a long period.

I was very disappointed with this product. I moved from using Flotrel to this because I was having to add water and silicon and Flotrel to my paint and it just seemed that it would be easier to move to this product that's a lot more watery and only have to add this and silicon to my paint. But I am up with a lot more bubbles in my paint and thus a lot of small cells that I don't like . So I'll be going back to Flotrel.

I mixed this product in with my floetrolfor acrylic pours instead of water, it worked fantastic together my pours came out smooth eventhougt I strained my floetrol before there always seem to be just a little clumping that all disappeared with this product. My only complaint is I wished it came in a larger size this is why it’s a 4 star instead of 5.

Read description carefully. Is only one quart even though it looks exactly like the one gallon bottle.

I used this product extensively for acrylic pours and it worked beautifully. It's also good for thinning your paints just to paint regularly. The value that you get as far as the amount for the price that you pay is fantastic compared to other products used for this purpose.

A little thin for my use (acrylic pour painting) but they came nicely packaged with no leaks.

I bought this for pour paintings and it worked fine. It's a much thinner consistency than flotrol but works just as well so it just depends on your preference.

This latex extender has proven a valuable addition to paint jobs that require less brush stroke markings. A bottle of this product goes a long way and should be enough to treat at least 16 gallons of paint. This latex extender works as advertised.
