Nice little fridge
Bought this to replace a 10+ year old Danby kegerator. Stuck with the brand since my last one lasted so long. I haven't had this one for but a week but I'm very pleased with it. It's lighter than most mini fridges, well made and shelves are strong enough to fill with cans. The fridge cooled down to temp quickly, about 3 or 4 hours it was near 40F per a glass of water and temp probe. There is a good amount of storage inside and some shelves are adjustable but all are removable.A few downsides I've noticed is that since it is light it can slide on the floor if bumped. Mine is near a corner but not under cabinets so it is more exposed. Full with beverages it doesn't move as easily though. I added some felt pads to the bottom to not scratch the wood floors, and there's only one leveling screw. The other thing is cans that were pushed back to the metal cooling plate get very cold. I had a few very slightly slushy beers. So I pulled them off the back wall meaning I lost a row of can space.Overall for the price you can't beat this fridge and if it is as reliable as my previous Danby you can't beat it. Others commented about the noise but when it kicks in there is a slight whine and hum but isn't any louder than any fridge I've had before.

Absolutely love this refrigerator
So far, GREAT in every respect. The things I love about it are 1. It cools evenly throughout down to below 40f I checked with a special thermometer in a bottle of water and I'm in AZ. 2. It is quiet 3. the inside light shines through the glass shelves and I can see everything. 3. the shelves are in a perfect place for me so that a lot fits on them and the crisper is long enough for celery and holds a lot also. 4. It fits a square carton of milk, 1/2 gal. I think 5. It's self defrosting 6. it was only $265 with a 2 yr. guarantee and 7. look how well it fits into the space. And if you fill out a little survey, you get an extra 2 months added onto your warranty. The only thing I would change is the temperature control button which you have to use a coin or knife to turn it and the cannister holder because I don't use cans, but I have bottles in them instead. We changed the door to open on the right and that brought the cannister holder to the front instead of the back. Overall though, a fantastic value for the money in my opinion.

Danby refrigerator did not disappoint.
Great refrigerator. Lost of room. No useless ice cube maker. Very quite. Only problem was some minor damage caused by the shipping strap pulled to tight. Worked out a solution this Amazon.

Danby Frig 4 stars, Amazon Shipping 1 star
An earlier version of the Danby DAR044A4BDD-6 4.4 cubic foot mini frig ran continuously for 21 years in our basement without a problem. When it finally packed it in two weeks ago, we had no issue buying the model again. Now after the replacement has arrived, we wish the old one was still running. The new frig gets 4 stars, but shipping gets 1 star. The new frig has three differences from the old one, but only two are significant. In the old one there was a plastic bin on the bottom which was great for storing fruit such as apples. In the new one there is just empty space. The old one had 4 glass shelves; the new one only has 3 wire shelves. The material is inconsequential, it is the number of usable shelves. The old fridge was great flex space on holidays where you could adjust the shelves just far enough apart to slide in shallow, but wide and long pans of side dishes. Unfortunately, neither the old plastic bin nor the old shelves fit in the new replacement. With low stocks of this frig everywhere we could neither buy it locally nor have it shipped to a local store. We prefer shipping to a local store for items of this size because it is much easier to refuse items that arrive damaged. Unfortunately, the replacement arrived with a serious, but apparently non-fatal wound---see the attached picture. It took a hard blow to put this large of a dent on a corner which is the strongest point of the metal shell. Danby has great packing on the top and bottom, but the corners are vulnerable.Having dragged it downstairs we decided to fire it up and see if it would function. It started immediately and is still running after 24 hours. If it continues to function, we will keep it because of where it is located the wound is not visible and we just do not want to drag it back upstairs and haul it to UPS for return.

so far so good
I've had the Danby 4.4 Cu.Ft. Mini fridge for a few days, and so far so good. I am very pleased with the product.I had read reviews about units arriving damaged upon delivery. in my case I was surprised with how well the fridge was packaged. As well as all around polystyrene and cardboard packaging , there were solid HDF or MDF boards top and bottom to prevent any stacking damage. Unpacking was easy since removal of the bands around the box release the top and sides as a lift off sleeve. All internal parts were held in place by tape or foam to prevent movement during transport. After plugging in I placed a thermometer inside and kept track of the temperature. With a little adjustment it easily reached the 37 degrees (F) I wanted. During the initial cooling period, the sides of the cabinet got warm which I assumed was the result of the side panels being used to dissipate the excess heat. After reaching the required temperature and in normal use, the side panels have remained cool. So far it has remained extremely quiet when running. There is no "gurgling" at startup and I have to listen carefully to know it's running. The only criticism I have is that the bump-out of the door's lower shelf designed to hold a 2 liter bottle is centered in that shelf section which limits what will fit either side. Positioning the bump-out to the left or right would have left space for something like a wine bottle.
