Recommended by my Surgeon's Physical Therapist
This is the one my physical therapist told me to use after the surgery. It's very good, the cold lasts quite a while, it's pliable and can fit around your hip after a total hip replacement.

Great ice pack - molded shape, freezes quickly
My PT turned me on to this brand of ice pack. I am using two of these post surgical recovery and I would be a hot mess without them! These freeze quickly, but not super hard. I can mold them to the position I need on my leg and they work well for providing concentrated cool. These are gel packs and they are not heavy, great to maneuver when needed. The outer bag is easy to clean off and we can store these well in our freezer either flat or folded. These are a game changer for comfort and I'm so glad I found these on Amazon!

The one and only.
Try his is the Only ice pack you will Ever want to use once you try it. Its quality is so awesome. It’s that of a Physical Therapist. I have had both my knees replaced and these ice packs were my go to. They are super flexible straight from the freezer. They hold their coldness for a good half hour or even longer. You get your money’s worth with these. FYI….when you put them in the freezer, just be mindful of any sharp objects or edges of other frozen goods that could do damage to the ice packs. I tend to protect my investment and save a space in the freezer door or lay them flat where you might not damage them too quickly. These are worth the money trust me. I get great comfort when I I’ve with these. Other store bought ice packs don’t hold their coldness anywhere like these do.

Good Product But I Also Had A Bad Experience
I purchased this item because I injured my lower back and needed to apply cold for 20 minutes of each every hour to contain swelling, which equals pain. Previously I had been using a smaller gel pack with a transparent plastic outer shell. I ordered the ColPaC with with two goals in mind:1) I wanted to cover a larger area of my lower back AND2) Have a second cold pack that I could rotate by alternating one in use and one in the freezerAfter reading a few reviews the ColPaC sounded exactly like the product that I wanted. When it arrived I was surprised at just how large it really was. It immediately made my current cold pack seem small and inadequate! The outside blue vinyl shell felt thick which I viewed as a plus. The inside substance content felt appropriately substantial and just full enough to provide some give when applied without having thin spots. After placing the cold pack in the freezer for a couple of hours I pulled it out and applied it to my lower back. e.g. Lying on the cold pack in bed. I was very pleased at the large area of my back that this item covered - it was so much greater than what I had been using. I was also pleased with how much longer it retained it's cold temperature compared to my other cold pack. All in all I was very happy using this product for about two weeks. Then to my dismay it began leaking content from a small area along the edge seam. The 'gel' is a very think sand/brownish colored substance that stained both my clothing and my bedspread. This was a real mess! I don't know if I received a unit that had an improperly finished seam or not. I am willing to give the product another shot and am exchanging my leaky item for a replacement to give it a second chance. If the replacement holds up to regular use without leaking I will revise this review to reflect 5 stars, if not I will lower my rating to one star. Until then I am giving it two stars for the lack of longevity, durability and poor quality control.10/1/2012 ** UPDATE **I am happy to report that I received a replacement for my defective, leaky 11"x14" cold pack. Big kudos go to The Therapy Connection for going to bat on my behalf with the manufacturer (100% satisfied - great seller!). I really do think this is an outstanding product, it was just a quality control issue. I have since purchased three additional sizes. I am rating the product at 4 stars simply because of the hassle factor that bad QC caused for myself and the seller.12/4/2013 ** UPDATE #2 **After using several sizes and versions of the ColPaC for over a year, I am happy to move my rating up to 5 stars. My whole family loves using these products! It appears that my initial defective product was an anomaly as all of the other ColPaC products have been perfect. If you have a need for this type of product, I would strongly recommend the ColPaC brand!

Fantastic ice pack!
After recent major knee surgery, I was tired of using ice cubes in a ziplock, or frozen veggies to ice my knee. After using this ice pack in physical therapy every couple of days, I decided that I really wanted to have this at home. Purchasing through my physical therapy office was too expensive, so I was VERY happy to find this product on Amazon, and ever happier that it works phenomenally well.I ordered the oversize version because I'm 6'9" and have longer/bigger than average legs, and it wraps perfectly around my entire knee, giving relief to not just the top of the knee, but sides and underside. It really helps with swelling after a grueling physical therapy session, and provides relief after a long day of re-learning to walk again. I've had the product a little over a month and I only have two minor complaints:1) I wish I had found it sooner; right after my injury during the 3-day gap b/t injury and surgery would have been amazing, but post-surgery is when I really needed it. I didn't start PT until 3 weeks after surgery, and didn't look into purchasing this until after a few sessions when I realized how good it was. Doctors should prescribe this ice pack (various sizes) pre/post-surgery to all knee surgery patients. It's that good.2) I do wish it lasted just a little bit longer. It only lasts about 30 minutes at full coldness. This is usually enough, but it would be nice if it lasted like 45 minutes.I would recommend this version to anyone who wants full coverage when icing their knee/leg. The fact that it wraps all the way around my leg is what sold me, but it's also wide enough to cover my entire knee and then some.No quality issues here (knock on wood), but it's good to know the manufacturer protects against leaks etc. It does take up a lot of space in the freezer, so be aware of that. Do NOT fold it in half, arrange your freezer so you can lay it flat length-wise across the top of everything, and you'll be good to go.

BEST ice packs for muscles!
I love these ice packs. My muscle therapist had me use one in the office and I knew I had to buy some right away. I purchased three! I love that they're pliable so you can use them on different parts of the body when needed. I have lots of inflammation in my body and I think these will make all the difference. I HIGHLY recommend them.
