It is a heavier router but for may jobs that is what you need.The included edge guide is often an "extra" cost with other brands. Years ago I bought some Wen tools, and was not overly impressed. Well, that was then. This plunge router is exceptional. The power and capabilities are equivalent to Bosh , Dewalt and other big names. It also comes with edge guides, etc. I find the required down thrust takes a little more pressure than I would like, but overall it is an excellent investment at a great price.

This is my first plunge router, I needed a bit more power than my battery-operated Ryobi trim router, and boy does this deliver. Gets to full speed very quickly and cuts through material with ease. One thing I had an issue with was how tight the spring was in the plunge, but a few shots of WD-40 and it works like a charm. If you're using the collar to use 1/4" bits, you really have to crank down on the nut but it stays in place without being sketchy. Anyone that has a problem with this router is probably trying to remove too much material in one pass and its chewing the wood because so far this is great. I've even used this with a wide straight bit to use as part of a router sled.

This worked until it didn't. It was working one minute then it just died. I got about 3 uses out of it. Also frustrated that there is no way to have it run without holding the trigger.I need to update this Customer service was second to none for this. Upon contact they sent a label to send it back and sent me a new one.
