It sprays on as if it is water. There are no after effects such as foaming, or stinging. I usually blow dry the hair within ten minutes after spraying, and then use styling hair products when desired.

Does this make your hair grow in or just make your current hair look thicker

Honestly, I think it helps to retain the hair you do have, but I have not seen any "new" growth, nor does it make it my hair appear any thicker. The original formula did better with hair volume, but the new version is more like syrup and actually weighs hair down in my opinion. I really liked the original formula much better.
