Will last forever. Have one from over 15 years ago that still looks new!
Update: Almost 3 years later and this set of pans is still going strong. As sturdy and as good as the day I bought them. I highly recommend these pans over many other pans that I have purchased over the years that did not last. The fry pan that I compare this to in pictures, from a more expensive brand, is also still in good shape. But these get a lot more use. I have run these pans through the dishwasher hundreds of times in the past three years. Still look great, nothing is loose, nothing has rusted. Just an awesome set of well-made pans. Fully intend to buy my kids sets of these when they move out. Old Review from 2019: I bought a 3 quart size from this line at a big box store years ago and loved it so much, it has become our go-to pan for most everything on the stove. I vowed if I ever found a set I would buy it. I had a Cuisinart Chef's Classic set in my cart for months and had even purchased a frying pan to try the line out before I found this set at a fantastic bargain. These actually beat those based on my comparison to the fry pan. These are heftier and the handles are more ergonomic. The absolute BEST part of these pans is the straining lids. I LOVE that. The stock pot has it's own straining lid, completely eliminating the need for a colander, which ironically came with this set. The colander that comes with the set is smaller than it appears in this picture. You're definitely not draining a pot of spaghetti into it, not that you would need to. It sits very high on the pedestal as well. Maybe it was included to be used as a sort of steamer basket (though it would be too tall for that with any of these pans). The utensils are quite large. More of an industrial size than a size most people would use in their personal kitchen. Still very nice. The picture of the two pans (with the stock pot in the background) is the 2 quart (on the left) that comes with this set and the 3 quart (on the right) that I purchased years ago. The newer one is shinier, but not by much. I have also included pictures of how the handles are riveted on. The 5 quart stock pot is riveted on like most pans, the others have a unique WearEver design that has held up very well for me over the years. It is sturdy and has never loosened with probably thousands of runs through the dishwasher. I fully expect this to be the last set of pans I ever buy. I also included a side by side of the handles on the two fry pans. The Cuisinart Chef's classic is on the left and the WearEver is on the right. The Cuisinart is a thicker metal but the handle is also harder to hang on to because the design is thinner overall. The advantage of the "hollow" metal handles on the WearEver is that they never get hot. I have never burned my hand on the handle even once, no matter how hot the rest of the pan gets. The frying pan is more of an "every day" pan with deeper sides than the Cuisinart (almost twice as deep and more perpendicular). You could use the fry pan to fry chicken in a couple of inches of oil, if that is how you do it. It's more like a chicken fryer than a skillet. It also has a lid that drains (shared lid with the stock pot). The bottoms are encapsulated aluminum and I could not get a good picture but they appear to be exactly the same type of bottom as on the Cuisinart Chef's classic. I can vouch for the bottom of the 15 year old pan not warping or separating in all that time. Truly, seriously, you will not be unhappy that you bought these pans. I am so happy that I finally found a set to go with my original orphan pan. I have owned multiple different brands over the years, including some single purchases of some very high end, expensive pans. These are hands down, every bit the same quality as the super expensive ones. DO NOT let the low price fool you. Apparently, there are still some manufacturers out there that believe in providing quality at a fair price. GET THIS SET. You will not be disappointed. Especially at this price point. I have two teenage sons who will be leaving the nest soon and I am thinking of ordering sets for them, just in case these aren't available then.

Not perfect, but the value warrants 5 stars...
I recently fell in love with cooking and I needed new cookware really badly on a really tight budget. I wanted to stay away from non-stick and aluminum as I wanted something that could possibly last a lifetime. I like being able to preheat pans, stack them, clean them with whatever I have close by with out worrying about their longevity. I also like browning foods and the subtleties of cooking with stainless. The handles do not get hot; maybe a little warm closer to the pot but that is about it. They do not have any padding so they can go into the oven. Also, it keeps the pots nicely balanced as the weight remains centered around the base of the pan. The handle on the glass lids do get hot though. The lids are a huge timesaver as you can use them to strain, and my favorite part is using them to rinse as well. This is extremely handy for rice, beans, lentils, etc. Rinse them directly in the saucepan, drain water, and then add water and cook. As someone who cooks multiple times a day this eliminates steps and dishes from my cooking. Also, no more propping lids open awkwardly to vent- all you need to do is leave the strainer open to vent. I've never had cookware with glass lids and I find it really nice to be able to glance inside without letting all the heat out. The 1qt is great for warming milk, and boiling other liquids. The spouts are a nice feature. Honestly if I had the choice between these sauce pans and anything that costed 2-3x as much I'd still go with these as I love their design so much. The only gripe about this cook set is the skillet. Remember: not all 18/10 stainless is created equal. I've used every "cooking with stainless steel" precaution to get food to not stick to the skillet: preheating the pan, adding cold oil later, keeping the heat low-medium. And I still can't keep sticky foods from sticking. Nicer stainless steel skillets have thicker quality steel and given the price of these I was not expecting the skillet to perform as well. Don't get me wrong it's a great skillet and I still use it for things that don't stick easily. It's great for browning veggies then adding liquid, and putting the glass lid on. But because of the deepness of the skillet the only other negative I find is that it's hard to get into it to flip whatever is cooking. I supplemented this cook set with an inexpensive cast iron pan for anything that likes to stick. Or if your set on stainless then a 9-10" cuisinart classic line is inexpensive and would be a great addition to this set. Regardless if food stuck or not these clean up really easily with just a sponge. Occasionally a nylon brush when needed. If the skillet is really dirty I will put a couple of drops of dish soap and some warm water and let it sit while I do other dishes. After a few minutes it will wipe clean. The lids do have an area for food/moisture to collect and get stuck but they still clean easily. My only complaint is when trying to dry them you'll have a water in this part of the lid which can be annoying. I do not like extras thrown into the cook set so that marketing can call it a "10 piece" instead of 7 but at least the extras that this set comes with are not made of plastic. The colander is a weird addition as the the lid design drastically cuts down the need for one. I still use it from time to time. The serving spoons are comically big but I use them on occasion. I would say buy this set for the saucepans alone, especially for the price they are going for. Supplement the skillet with a cast iron from lodge for $16-20 and you'll have yourself a killer, versatile, potentially long life cook set for around $80. I'm very happy with these for the price I paid.

Great Deal
UPDATE 09/20/2015 - Well after almost two years of daily cooking with this set of pot and pans I am 100% pleased with there performance and price. I have attached pictures of how the Wearever A834S9 Set looks now, almost like new even using metal utensils. UPDATE 01/27/2014 - After cooking with this for close to two months now through the holiday season, I can say that this is the best set of cookware I have owned in 40 years. I seasoned the cookware twice before using and now it is a breeze to cook with and clean. 1) cook 2) soak with hot water only 3) wash with sponge / nylon scrubber 4) empty water out and add a table spoon of lemon juice 5) wipe dry on inside and out. As you can see in video, looks and cooks like when new! ------------------------------------------------------- To myself this is a very good deal a long as you follow the instructions that you would have to follow with any stainless steel cookware. I have had no foods stick to it when cooking which may be due to its even heat distribution heavy bottom design. A few things you must do are: 1. Keep all you cookware properly seasoned (you can find some better seasoning methods on-line) 2) Never use soap on your pans or any steel pads, you do not have too. Just let them soak in water if needed. 3) Do not scourer you cookware for hard water spots or such, just use a little lemon juice inside and outside the cookware. The only negative is that the handles on the lids, not the pots, get very hot. I am going to take the lid handles loose and put some heat resistant washers between the handle and the glass lid. No need to worry anymore about metal cooking utensils. You will be happy with the way you cookware cooks food as I am.

GREATEST PANS GOING FOR THE MONEY WITH SUPER GREAT CLEANUP
FOR THE MONEY, THE BEST COOKWARE OUT THERE. WITH SUPER, EASY CLEANUP. IF A PAN OF CHILI SCORCHES, I JUST SOAK IT IN HOT WATER OVER NIGHT AND IT IS SO EASY TO CLEAN UP IN THE MORNING. THIS IS MY SECOND SET OF THESE AND WHILE I AM STILL USING THE FIRST AND IT IS IN GREAT CONDITION AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE SO FOR YEARS, JUST WANTED A COMPLETE BACKUP SET FOR WHEN THESE ARE NO LONGER MADE. THESE DAYS IT IS SO HARD TO FIND GREAT PRODUCTS AND IT ALWAYS SEEMS AS THO WHEN I DO AND I GO BACK TO REPURCHASE AGAIN, THE GREAT PRODUCT IS NO LONGER BEING MADE OR NO LONGER FOUND. TOOK THIS SET OUT OF BOX TO INSPECT TO SEE IF OK, PUT ALL BACK INTO BOX AND AM KEEPING FOR THE FUTURE --- LIKE AN INSURANCE POLICY. AS THIS SET, DOES NOT COME WITH THE 3 QT, WHICH IS MY FAVORITE POPCORN POPPER, I ALSO BOUGHT AN "INSURANCE" 3 QT AND AM STORING IT AWAY WITH THIS SET. I LOVE THAT I CAN GRAB THE HANDLES WITH OUT A HOT PAD. CON - THE METAL KNOB ON THE GLASS LIDS REQUIRE A HOT PAD AND CANNOT BE PICKED UP BY BARE HAND. OTHER THAN THAT CON I HAVE FOUND NO OTHERS AND HAVE BEEN USING THESE PANS SINCE FIRST SAW THEM IN A BIGBOX STORE HANGING UP ON THE WALLS AND DECIDED TO BUY 2 AND TRY THEM OUT. THAT WAS FIFTEEN YEARS AGO NOW. I REFUSE TO USE ANY THING ELSE IN MY KITCHEN NOW EXCEPT A NON STICK SMALL SKILLET FOR OMELETS AND EGGS. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND. IF YOU ARE HESTINATE ABOUT BUYING THE WHOLE SET AT FIRST, SUGGEST BUY THE 3 QT OR A SMALLER SIZE SINGLE AND TRY IT OUT FIRST. NEW EDIT OCT 2017: AFTER OWNING TWO SETS OF THESE, ONE OVER TEN YEARS, I HAVE NEVER, NEVER SEEN ONE MINI SPOT OF RUST. ANYONE SAYING THEIRS HAS RUSTED, IS CERTAINLY ABUSING IT SOMEHOW.

Great pans at a great price
I was looking for a cookware set to give to my mother when I ran across this one. Seeing as the price was so low (<$70), I was a bit leery of the quality. But there were good reviews so I took a chance, planning to send them back if they weren't quite right. The box arrived and as I looked over each piece checking for imperfections I was pleasantly surprised with just how nice these pans are. My partner saw me going thru them and commented that they are nicer than the pans we have - the ones that I got 20+ years ago. My mother loves these pans and even got a pot hanger so she can hang them visibly in her kitchen. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that the couple of Calphalon pans I have truly are outstanding pans, I haven't found a finer pan than theirs, Calphalon is just too costly for me to outfit our kitchen with a whole set. So, thinking about what I could actually afford, I would love to upgrade our steel pans with these Wearever pans, but have a hard time buying more of something I already own that really has nothing wrong with them, they're just old. If only I could accidentally burn something awful onto our existing pans...

So durable and great quality!
I've had this set for 7 years now, and it is still holding up beautifully! One pan got scorched from improper use, but that was years ago. Each pan gets used multiple times a week!

Nice quality for the money - expect them to last a long time
So far I love these pots. They are VERY shiny (more shiny than other stainless pots I have). The insides did scratch with the use of stainless spoons but my other set has scratches inside too (these are just more noticeable because they are sooooo shiny). Love the pour feature - no longer need a colander (just another thing to wash!!). Wish the lids locked when pouring so you don't have to hold the lid against the pot when straining but it's not that big of a deal - just would be better if the lid locked. They heat up FAST. Had the 5 quart pot from this set and another 5 quart pot from a different brand filled with water and the WearEver won the speed test. Funny that it comes with a colander when the pots strain themselves and I thought I would just donate the colander but turns out -it's a great piece to have. It's on the small side so it's perfect for rinsing fruits and vegetables. It fills up a bit with water when you have food that you are going to rinse in it so you can swirl it around and really feel like you're getting a good "wash". They are somewhat heavy but that makes them feel like they have some quality to them. I would recommend these pots if you looking for an inexpensive but nice set that heats up fast, can go from cook top to oven (up to 350 degrees with lids on) and washes up beautifully.

Love this cookware
Love this cookware!!! Had to get a new set of cookware to replace my 30 year old Revere Ware after getting a ceramic top range and sooo glad I found this set. It's got all the features of the really expensive sets for a quarter of the price. This is not wimpy cookware, it has a good weight, heats and cooks evenly, Tri-Ply 18/10 stainless construction. The glass straining lids are another great feature. Has all the essentials pieces, although they should have included the 3 qt sauce pan and left out the colander and utensils. Food sticking is not a problem if you take the time to coat the interior of the skillet with a few drops of vegetable oil and let it heat up on medium heat for 7 to 10 minutes before adding food. I only do this with the skillet as the sauce pans don't need it. If there is a con it would be that the handles can get hot, just use your head and mitts and you'll be alright. I hand wash and dry to prevent spotting and use Bar Keepers Friend cleanser when needed. Although you can use metal utensils, I never have and my 2 year old set looks like I just took it out of the box. I've added the WareEver 3 qt sauce pan and the 12" Cuisinart Everyday Pan to complete my set, you can find these here on Amazon and at the best prices. This is an excellent, high quality set that's built to last.

Very good pots and pans
These are really nice . I love them . The price is right too. I love the see through lids and the pouring spout. Also comes with 2 stainless steel serving spoons. Those are amazing. I love them . Very well made. It come with a strainer. This is the only thing I was a bit disappointed in. It's not very big and feels alot more cheaply made . Besides that these pots are fantastic. Good weight . Feels great in your hands .

Good value
This Wearever stainless steel with aluminum base cookware is sturdy and holds its value for the money. I'm replacing a 1994 Wearever pot/pan set that has the Teflon coating and has finally started to scratch and wear. I figured that stainless steel would be a better option for the long term, and I purchased a couple of other brand name non-stick frying pans for frying up sticky food. (They're actually from Wearever's parent company). The handle for the stainless steel Wearever set has sharp edges and gets a bit warm/hot, so does the knob on the pot lids. You may need to use a tea towel or silicone mitt depending on your skin's tolerance to heat to avoid burning yourself. At first use, I've had trouble with the frying pan when chicken breast sauteed at high heat in olive oil stuck to it and burned a little making a burnt layer in the pan. The stainless steel didn't recover back to normal after using liquid dish soap, hot and warm water, Comet, baking soda with water to make a paste. Nothing has worked to take the white pitted looking spots from where the food burn marks were. This is disappointing. Teflon coated pans may be required for these type of foods. Otherwise, I'm happy with the Wearever cookware purchase and hope that this set lasts beyond 27 years than my last set.
