Works as advertised. Take care when setting up, but it's not that hard.
I rarely write reviews but this has completely met my expectations. It's excellent, for a great price. As others have said this is not plug and play, but the setup is straightforward if you follow the instructions. I am usually the first person to discard the instructions and just try and set things up, but you can't with this. The paper instructions contain a code that you need to register the device on their website. Once you do that it's plain sailing. I also connected it to thingspeak.com and I get a nice chart to show the temperature. There is a third-party app on the iPhone to connect to thingspeak which is useful. I wish the manufacturers would create an iPhone app dedicated to this device to make things easier. It seems to work really well. I get water and temperature alerts by text and email. Note that you don't want to set the email alerts to every minute frequency. I had some condensation on the sensor and woke up to 5000 emails! I'm probably going to buy another of these devices. It does what it says and seems to work well and reliably. I'll try and post an update in a few months as we get into winter...

Awesome product in every way!
We live in rural Alaska and bought this as a temp alarm while out of the country for 3 weeks in the middle of winter. With no house sitter it was such a comfort to be able to check online at any time and see what temperature our house was at. We had two cold snaps while gone with temps dropping to -40 deg. three days! And to know that if the temps in the house dropped below our set point or the power went out (along with our heat source) we would be notified in short order, was worth every bit of the reasonable $65 we paid. And that's just for this one trip, we now have a product we can use all the time even if only away for a day or two. Set up was quick and easy with great detailed instructions and a phone number to call if needed. This unit is well made as well with a case you could stomp on and solid leads. No doubt it'll hold up to years of use. The website is user friendly and simple to navigate. All around a great product and company!

Easy to set up, really does the job
This is the second one I bought. Ideal for monitoring freezer or refriferator temperatures while away from home for extended times. They are easy to set up and work as described. I like being able to monitor temperature real time.

Nice for the price
When i initially purchased it i thought i could receive both water and temp SMS text messages to my phone. After contacting them because i wasnt getting temp notifications but i was getting water notifications I realized they only send water SMS texts, not temp alerts. There is a workaround though by setting up a Pushbullet account and adding the access token code to your device settings in Myspool. Very simple and once this is done the app on your phone will notify you of the alerts. Works great although I wish they'd both be SMS texts hence the reason for 4 stars. I ran the water sensor in my sump pump pit and the temp sensor in my freezer. For the price its hard to beat.

Simple setup then it just works.
I'm using the MySpool Water and Temperature Alert in the engine room of my motor yacht. I leave the boat in the water year round. I needed a way to be alerted to abnormally high water levels in the bilge. This fits the bill perfectly. It is easy to setup. It is deep down in the boat and connected to the marina wifi. There have been no issues with connectivity in spite of a lot of barriers. I installed a USB port direct to the 12 volt system. There are four huge batteries kept in constant charge by a Mastervolt Powercharge 12/40-3. This is the ultimate UPS. I also have a MySpool AC current alert that lets me know if the AC power to the boat goes out. I have six web cameras monitoring various aspects of the boat. The cameras are on 12 volt power. With this system I can keep track of the health of my boat from anywhere in the world. I am beyond pleased with it.

Alert stopped working
This is the third my MySpool alert I have purchased in the last two years. The first one worked well for monitoring my hot tub for one year then stopped working. The second one worked for six months then stopped working. I took it apart and found out that it was missing the sealing gasket and the inside was all rusted. I attempted to contact MySpool company to get a replacement for this defective item, but was unable. Nonetheless, I purchased a third MySpool alert which worked for one month and now has stopped working. I am trying to troubleshoot without any success. I like the monitoring alert, but need for it to be more reliable.

Sensor works well
The sensor is somewhat light duty, but works well. I installed it in my ground water sump before leaving on a short vacation. Five days later I received a number of text messages the water level was high in the sump. Easy install and works as described with my wifi.

Looks like junk, but works like a charm
After having a basement flood, an expensive cleaning/remodel, and a new ejector pump installed in our basement, we ordered this alert product in case the pump failed. Received this rinky-dink little plug and wire contraption, which looks like not much, and followed the simple instructions to set it up via wifi. The product looked so small and dumb I honestly didn’t expect it to work. Fast forward a few years… I forgot we even owned this alert. Last month though, a small puddle of water formed on the floor by the pump, and GUESS WHAT? This little contraption sent me about 50 alerts on my phone throughout the day (in other words, there was no way to miss seeing an alert). Excellent response, and now I gotta admit I’m a believer in this product! Luckily we were home and fixed the water leak ASAP. But had we been out of town, the alert would have allowed us to contact our neighbors or plumber for help.

it just worked
This device has been working now for a good few months. We use it to keep an eye on the pond temperature, and to notify if the pond level falls dangerously low. (which would imply a leak in the water circulation). Setup was fairly easy. The temp probe cable was a bit short - but that was of course fixable for a half confident hobbyist. I don't find the backend software reporting to be as useful as I'd like. But fundamentally I can recommend this, and the support team were very quick to answer my questions. Please note that the water level sensor is binary (Is there water/is there not water). The supplied sensor wasn't suitable for my needs so I replaced it with a much superior product. A very good little unit - slight room for improvements.
