Hnmm don’t know about this one
The story is cute, sweet and short but is kind of one sided. The entire story is told in Noah’s point of view, and I have read stories that are written in the same style, but those stories at least let you know about the other main characters characters through the view of the one narrating or “living” the story. In this story that’s not the case, we barely know anything about Sage, I mean, we know he’s a Tattoo artist, he likes art, and he loves Noah, because he say so, but that’s it, and then we don’t know when he realize that he was in love with Noah? And why didn’t he say anything? Why was he dating people he didn’t love? What made him try dating Noah now? And so many other questions about them and their childhood, like why does Noah’s mother hate Sage? And I can go on for ever. Also, I can shake the feeling like I’ve read this story before, maybe it’s because the theme is kind of cliche and overly used? I don’t know. Don’t get me wrong I didn’t hate it, and It’s not that is bad, is just that it’s not great and it could’ve been I lot better.

Short & Sweet
Nothing about this short story was quite believable yet I fell for it hook, line and sinker. Maybe because Noah was so totally uptight about his whole life, while Sage could not be more of an opposite--which is really the silly since these life long friends were thrown together blindly by a matchmaking app.How their "date" played out and how they managed to finally get together was cute, especially the references to when they met and how both of their mothers were simply totally out of touch with reality. The resolution about the app was silly, but somewhat believable, and the final scene before the epilogue was off the charts.Nice palate cleanser.

Lovely story
Better late than never. Sometimes friendship seems to get in the way of a deeper commitment. Keeping that closeness of a friendship forged through shared confidences and intrinsic understanding of the other's emotions would be devastating to loose. Each person hiding, or trying to ignore, their deeper feelings. Afraid to loose the one person who truly understands you. Until...Until the stars align and the time is right.Noah and Sage finally let their deeper feelings shine through and found their forever happiness. Together.

Loved it!
Loved this expanded version of the short story that was originally published in the Heart2Heart anthology. Morton has quickly become one of my favorite authors, an automatic “buy on release day.” She imbues her characters with such depth and emotion and feeling you feel as if you really could sit down in a cafe with them. I love the humor and snark and, in the cases of her novels, the pain and emotion of the crisis moments. Being an American Anglophile I love the British settings, language and culture as well.I’ve read all of her published works and highly recommend them all. You can’t go wrong as she does m/f as well as she does m/m like this story.

Short, with about as much depth
(Mild spoilers)Ok. So they are old friends and there is clearly something there... but their actions don't necessarily match their feelings. Who dates other people long term when they're in love with someone else? The two of them could have resolved this about 4 years prior to this story by being a little more honest, a little more open and a little less willing to run away or run off with the first man who presents himself as an alternative. The story starts as mildly interesting but it's too short, too rushed and quickly stops being believable. The last quarter of the book is just pure sap. Okay if you are looking for something mindless and sugary sweet

Ok
If you want a quick and easy read this would be ok, obviously because of the length there wasn't a great deal of depth to it and the storyline was fairly predictable; it also lacked the usual snark and humour of Lily Morton's other books.

Another great read!
I'm a huge Lily Morton fan so I already expected this to be good. But it was even better! I love the characters, the dialogue, the setting, absolutely everything. The story is so wonderfully fresh and fun with real emotions weaved in and it just made me sad to finish it.A brilliant read!
