Outward Creations Wasp Nest Decoy - 4 Pack - Safe Fake Nest

As an entomologist I have installed these on porches and in sheds and they are not only very effective, but also beautiful. I was sorry to see people’s complaints about paper lanterns not standing up to rain or wind—why would you expect otherwise? You need to place them in sheltered conditions and they don’t last forever. Once I hung a hummingbird feeder below (from the base) and that actually attracted wasps who noticed it was an empty nest—so don’t hang anything sweet below yours! At our community garden, I knocked down wasps nests every other week from inside a new shed until I put one of these up. No wasps for 6 years in a row!! These are not foolproof but the way they work is as follows. When placed in a sheltered spot in early spring as social wasp queens emerge and look for a nest site, they see the nest and think, “gee, there’s not going to be enough food for me and my family here since this other family is here…” Painting your porch ceiling sky blue is also effective. Friends with a wrap-around porch had all sky blue ceilings except one small section that had remained brownish green. They never had any wasps starting nests in the blue, but often in the other area until they painted that, as well.

Wow....where to start? My wife is very allergic to wasp & yellow jacket stings to the point of having undergone 2 years of allergy shots and carrying an Epi pen with her. We've had some problems with these insects on our home for the past 2 years and have tried sealing up any openings we saw, hanging traps all around and being extra vigilant with keeping an eye out. When I saw these, I was hesitant to try them because it sounded to good to be true...boy was I wrong! Within 3 days of hanging these around the house/garage where we had seen them coming and going, they were gone! None...nada...zip...zilch. We did see a few for the first couple of days but after that, BOOM! No more wasps! A very happy consumer here.....

These are good, fairly realistic appearing decoy wasp nests. First, they are made of PAPER! Don't put them where they'll get wet. Paper does not hold up well in wet conditions. This is not a flaw or defect. Use some common sense, please. Wasps absolutely love my covered front porch. Through the years they have treated it as their very own live in amusement park. Not this year! Instead of spraying and killing them and their nests which I hate to do, I bought a set of 4 of these decoy nests. I have seen a few fly through but only one nest was started. Last year we also had an invasion of carpenter bees. They started showing up again this spring and began their "work" boring into my posts and beams. After hanging these decoy nests they have not subsided as much as the wasps but their presence is now minimal and manageable. I was skeptical at best when I ordered the decoy nests. I have been pleasantly surprised at their effectiveness. A good product at a good price. I recommend if you have a wasp or bee problem.

We have bought two sets of three each over the past two years. This year, we found a yellow jacket nest built under the same roof eave where one of the decoys was hanging! That was disappointing. Also, please note that these are VERY flimsy. You need to hang them where you get NO wind, which is probably where yellow jackets are likely to build a nest anyway, but if you hang them in a breeze way or anywhere that they will be knocked about by wind or rain, they will tear. They worked for us in many locations, but not this year in one. So take that for what it is worth. For the price, I think they are worth a try.

These wasp nest decoys work quite well and they are attractive also. We had a terrible wasp problem around our deck last summer so I tried these as a humane way to deter them this spring. They work quite well but do you need to be spaced about every 4 feet apart. We’ve had several big storms this spring and they’ve held up reasonably well. One is coming apart a bit but the other two are OK. I’m really happy with these and love the idea of a deterrent vs poisons.

I was so excited after reading the reviews about how effective these were at wasp control! However, after hanging all 6 in different areas, not only were they not scaring away the wasps, the wasps were actually sitting on them! They look cute- kind of like little lanterns, but they do nothing about the wasps.

It doesn’t work so good for us. But maybe will for someone else. I didn’t lose much for trying

These things really work! They are very easy to put together, just hang off the porch ceiling and No more wasps! Totally worth the price, no poisons, no running from the wasps, wasps just see it and move on!

Works great for keeping the wasp away! My backyard was infested with them before I put these up!

Fairly easy to put together. Deters my paper wasps for the most part. Still have a few meandering around, and the odd rogue who will actually land on them and chill for a minute.

They are ineffective.

These paper nests came in a package of 4 but the metal frames to hold them open were missing, so they cannot be used. Extremely disappointed, waited several weeks to receive and parts are missing. Tried twice to contact seller but no replies. Do not buy these, you'll be disappointed. Quality of paper is very poor and won't last long.
