This is a great coffee canister. It keeps coffee fresh, like keeping you beans or grounds in the freezer, without having to put them in the freezer. Lid closes well, locking out air; has a one way filter that releases any stale air that can ruin coffee flavor; very well made and looks sharp. It even comes with a measured scoop to measure out your beans or grounds with. Must have for any coffee lover.

looks sharp, does a great job of keeping coffee fresh. I'd tried a ton of random containers (tupperware, specialized coffee jars, pump vacuum jars, etc), most of which simply failed to keep the coffee fresh. With this, it's basically good-as-fresh-ground for a fair number of days, and "adequate" for long enough to mostly use up a bag. The 11oz seems just the right size for modern bags of beans (is it just me, or did the "standard" size shrink in the last few years??) with a bit of margin to help avoid messes. I'm very happy with the purchase. It's solidly made of steel with a premium-looking finish, too, and avoids unnecessary plastics.

The Coffee Gator is one among several brands that feature the CO2 release valve, an important component to maintaining freshness of your whole beans. I do not buy ground beans, I grind them myself and you should to. Grinding is such an important part of a good cup of coffee you really need to be utilizing control over this step of the cup making process instead of trusting a generic grind you may find at the store. Those of you who buy your beans at a roaster whole know what I mean. The Coffee Gator container has solid construction, and I particularly like the seal maintaining mechanism, though it should be said other comparable brands do pay attention to the importance of the kinds of designs that provide good seal. There were several brands I researched before narrowing it down to the top two or three brands before I chose the Gator brand. The other two were similar in almost every way. In the end I liked the fact the Gator brand had color choices I liked and that was the decider factor. I love these coffee containers and ultimately bought 3 more after buying the initial one to try. I now have two 11 oz and two 16 oz containers. I use the 11 oz for my paper basket filters to keep them clean and the 16 oz for my coffee. The containers seal well, and the latch is easy to use. I have never had an issue with coffee going stale in these containers, though I admit that I drink enough coffee that it isn't sitting in there for months on end. I find that the included scoop is perfectly sized for my usage with my 5-cup coffee maker, so it was an added bonus.

We've been using this for 10 years now and it still keeps the beans fresh with a tight seal. Lightweight, holds a pound of beans, solid locking clamp.

Stylish and easily holds 1# coffee. The top seals well and is easy to open with my aging fingers. Love it.

They are great for holding my 1 pound bags of whole beans. I find I don't set the date on the top. I drink a lot of coffee. Only know is that the scoop holder doesn't hold the scoop well. The scoop moves all over the place.

This airtight container seems to be keeping my ground coffee mice and fresh and looks good However, it arrived with a small dent on the bottom/edge and - after only using twice - the stainless steel scoop handle just fell off. Obviously it wasn't properly welded on, or had it been glued? This is why I can only give this product 3 stars.
