I'm clearing out my parents' house after their passing. Many years of accumulated stuff to toss. Given the variety of materials I am dealing with -- metal and ceramic, mortar and wood -- I was in need of the strongest bags I could buy. The first round was with the standard trash bags available at Costco. They were OK; plentiful and relatively inexpensive. But there were a few failures (punctures and tears) and I wanted something more robust. So next I went with the huge national brand that described their bags as Ultra Strong, but they proved to be the least capable. They stretched and tore easily. Repeatedly. I decided to move on. That led me to these fine beasts. These bags are TOUGH. They are super-thick, there's no mistaking their heft in your hand. I am confident they will see me through to the end of my work here. If you're looking for bags that are thick and strong enough to stand up to the most difficult circumstances (like my parents' basement) don't hesitate. Get these.

They are thick & heavy duty. We used them for renovation & yard clean up. They never ripped, never leaked, & we put a lot of different types of things in them. They’re big & since we put a lot of different things in them at times they got very heavy. At times we dragged them across the yard & they never ripped. They come with normal twist ties & sometimes we used those but mainly just tied it shut by knotting the top of the bags.

This is a photo of one bag standing on its own-they're that thick! Having never used a bag that was 4ml thick I didn't know what to expect. I thought it would be like double bagging a lawn/contractor/heavy duty trash bag you buy at Walmart. To go from regular black trash bags to these is like going from a piece of paper to a piece of drywall. They come individually folded & when you take one out it can literally stand upright on its own they're so thick. They are exactly as advertised. I would say they exceeded my expectations on quality & size for the price. I actually had to buy thinner bags from the same company because these are that thick. I don't say that as a bad thing at all I just never expected them to be so good.

These are super heavy duty contractor bags. The only downside is they don't fit a regular 30-32 gallon trash can so they're not suitable if you're looking for a liner.

I was moving out of state and the bags worked out great as I had to part with alot Items.

These bags are very heavy wall and seem quite tear resistant. The recycle content and made in the U.S.A. are a nice little bonus. Compared with the grocery or discount store 33-35 gallon bags, they are at least twice as thick, and far higher for great capacity. They also packaged in an easy-open-and-close box with a good supply of twist-ties. I don't know what bags could be better. My town has a limit, capacity wise, and these are at the limit.

Grocery bags are one-half of one mil thick. Regular kitchen garbage bags around around 1 mil thick. Most heavy duty yard waste bags are 2 mils thick, though some very heavy duty ones are 3 mils thick. These "Ultrasac" bags are an amazing 4 mils thick! NOTE: a "mil" is NOT a "millimeter"... this is a common misunderstanding. A "mil" is one one thousandth of an inch, so these 4 mil bags are .004 of an inch thick. A bag that was a full millimeter thick would have to be 40 (forty) mils thick... no such bags exist, that would absurdly thick, at ten times the thickness of these ultra thick 4 mil bags. You will not find a thicker bag for yard waste or other heavy duty needs... at least not at any reasonable price.

These are very heavy duty, and stand up to pieces of wood and rounded metal without tearing. The even handle screws which just punch through and don't start a "run"/rip. Obviously the can be cut with sharp metal, but overall these bags are really great for wood shop and framing off-cuts. While the price is ridiculously high, I an sticking with them as the 4 mil thickness really does make a difference over 3 mil bags (heavy duty Home Depot and Glad).
