I have many koi from Japan that were purchased specifically for me. So, I need a food that will bring out their colors and help them grow. This is by far the best food I’ve found. The fish know when I’m coming and follow me around the pond. I can lean in and feed them by hand and they will literally jump over each other to get to it. That just means they love it. I feed my fish twice a day during the warmer months and I don’t feed during the winter.

This is a great koi food and when you buy the 10lb bags it costs almost the same per pound as the Hikari standard 4lb bags. My koi love this food and it helps to give them a wonderful color and they are growing fast.

Have been using this for my 21 koi for a number of years and have always been happy with it. This is a mid-range food between every day and professional grade...with the latter's emphasis on higher grade (like show) fish which isn't why we have the pond. A good food and the price is the best available. Like Amazon Prime's two day delivery on it as well.

Koi are 16 in. and need a larger pellet, I mix with dainichi, the fish love it

Food arrived ripped open inside of box, tried to contact seller to initiate a replacement/refund and there’s no option to do either so leaving the review is my only option. Hoping the seller reaches out to make things right as this was a large bag of expensive food.

I mix the Gold with the Staple Hikari food. I think the Gold does enhance the color of the fish.

I have used Hikari Gold to feed my Koi for many years, always my first choice!
