I purchased two of these for testing a new system using SATA SSD M.2 NGFF 32GB boards. FUNCTIONALLY, they worked fine. On a commercial hard disk duplicator, I was able to use a good bootable Master M.2 SATA SSD to duplicate to the two new M.2 SATA SSD drives. I had no problem plugging in the M.2 boards to the slot. (HINT: hold the M.2 board at about 30 ° angle when inserting, then push it down gently to use the locking screw to hold the board in place.) The duplicates work as expected, copying the Master SSD fine. The PROBLEM is that the small standoff that secures the M.2 into the adapter was press fit and swagged into the 2280 position. My SSDs are 2242. This would not have been a problem if they made the installed standoff "movable" or included another standoff that could be installed for shorter M.2 boards. When it comes to our production system, we will order 16 of the StarTech version of this board, which is more rugged and DOES have a "movable" standoff.

I had an old laptop where the SSD died, I wasn't happy buying a new 2.5" drive, where all my newer laptops use M.2 devices, certainly no chance of re-using the drive if the laptop dies. But I did have a 256GB M.2 pulled from a dead laptop lying around, so with that in mind I looked for a cheap solution, this is it.The case is cheap plastic, but easy to use, other than the really tiny screws to attach the lid, I didn't worry about this, since it's going into a laptop. Perhaps the best thing about the cheap case is that makes it light, so perfect for laptop use. It's been working reliably for a few days, so my son who's now off from school is very happy his laptop is running as good as ever.

I bought this as a means of imaging the m.2 ssd for my home server. It served for that purpose, but the product is a disappointment.The threaded insert that allows the m.2 ssd board to be locked down does not align with the captive screw on the m.2 ssd. I was able to use the plastic case to hold the board down long enough to write an image to it, but I wouldn't be willing to use it in a long term installation.

My cloning and Erasure utilities use a SATA interface.I needed an adapter to be able to clone and erase M.2 ssd memory cards.This worked very nicely.Thank you for a fine product.

Used enclosure for a 1tb m.2 SSD. Installed as a second drive replacing my DVD player in the laptop. Worked perfectly.
