Lominie 20W Full Spectrum LED Aquarium Light, Nano Fish Tank Lamp

I am a big fan of Kessil lights, and these are a great alternative to their A80 range. Shimmer - is the reason many people buy a Kessil. They are more accentuated on the kessils, but you still get a nice, if slightly more subtle effect with these. I think I actually prefer it! Design - I really like the design of these. The mount is more flexible than the kessils as it lets you mount the light laterally or horizontally from the base. They are smaller and do get slightly hotter as a result but the cooling fins do the job. The only thing I would mention is that the metal mounting plate has sharp edges - I cut my finger when I opened the box! Power output - They are both 15w lights and power output appears is exactly the same. If anything, these are slightly brighter. Adjustability - You can only vary brightness with these and not colour temperature. However, the default colour temp on these is pleasant and brings out greens nicely. Strangely, one of the lights lets me lower the power output more than the other before turning off. Also worth noting that these come with two lenses - one flat which provides 180 degrees of light and one curved which focuses the light to 90 degrees. No way to change that on Kessil. Overall, its a draw here. Value for money - You could buy 5 of these for the same price as one A80. The kessils are not even close to 5x as good. Overall, these are a fantastic light for the price.

I've only used this light for under a week but I'm so happy with the way it lights up my tank! I'm using it on a 55L nano and compared to my last light it gives a much more natural appearance and creates ripples on the walls/ceiling and on the sand. I wasn't so much of a fan of the controller so paired it with the WiFi attachment available and love the extra control on the colour + scheduling mode (I've set it up to mimic a day cycle). It also casts more shadows under pants, which is great cover for my ember tetra and kuhli loaches. Isn't too heavy and easy to install!

Absolutely loved this light, worked really well and looked great. However after nine months it has stopped working. Despite being less than a year, I cannot find any way on Amazon to return this or get a replacement.

Really like this light—it’s bright, adjustable, and the 4-channel dimming gives great control over the look of the tank. It definitely helps bring out the colours in plants and fish. That said, the price is a bit on the higher side. You can get a full light unit for less, and if you have a bigger tank, you’ll likely need multiple units which can quickly add up to 3–4x the cost. Perfect for smaller tanks, but something to consider for larger setups.

I just received the Lominie LED aquarium light and my first impression is that it feels well-made and thoughtfully designed for planted tanks. The gooseneck makes it easy to position the light exactly where I need it, and the fact that it’s dimmable with multiple channels is a big plus since I can gradually adjust brightness rather than relying on a single fixed setting.

This is a great light for the price, it looks great and my plants are growing well. I have it on a 6gallon nano and have it set to the lowest output level. If you're considering this light you're likely on a budget or looking for a bargin and this will suit you well. I have it connected to a smart plug on a timer so it's maintenance free. One word of warning, it is fairly powerful, even at the lowest setting, so I would not put this into a tank smaller than what I have. It's actually a little over kill for me but I manage that with a shorter photo period.

Over-priced light- doesn’t even come with the wifi adaptor, it’s sold separately for another tenner. The reason I bought it was because I thought it came with the ability to be controlled through the app. The light is nasty cold white light- I can’t change the settings to make it better for my fish. Tempted to return it and get something different. Apparently the wifi adaptors can be faulty & fire hazards too so I definitely won’t be purchasing that. I got it because MD fish tanks recommends them all the time. Disappointed.

Pros: 1) good brightness for a 25L nano tank. 2) lots of options for LED mixture, to give different shades and effects. 3) it contains a fan which runs when LEDs are at max brightness, but the fan turns off on lower brightnesses and I don't really notice it when its is running because its so quiet. Cons: 1) Remote control is oddly set out. I don't use it and rely on the control on the powerline instead. 2) Any plants near the centre of the beam and near the surface will get intense light. Some floating plants would help give a little shade and reduce algae. 3) Would struggle to light the sides of anything over 40cm wide.
