Disappointed
I was very disappointed in two things. First of all Pamela is not a wishy washy person. Yet the author insists on making it appear that way whenever Pamela is around Richard. Second she had Richard give away a loved pet for a woman he barely knew. I would have give away the woman. This cat had bonded with Richard. He should have told the woman see you. I have never liked the way that Pamela was portrayed when around Richard. It seems to get worse in every book. Pamela could have said I like you. Let’s be friends. She didn’t have to have a romantic relationship with him or anyone. But to portray her as mealy mouthed? I started to dislike this part of the book in#4. It was worse in this book. I like the author but dislike the way she is taking this series.

More eating than sleuthing
If you want to read a book that describes in great detail the food they eat, how they prepare it, and the dishes they use, this is the book for you. You can also discover how to bake a cake, how to clean a room, and what this infinitely boring protagonist shops for at the grocery story. The actual mystery probably takes up 10 pages. The knitting takes even less than that. It reads like the author needed to meet a word count to satisfy a contract, and not much more than that. The real mystery is why I kept reading it.

Time to Change Things Up A Bit
First off I really like The Knit and Nibble gang Nell the curmudgeon, Roland who wears his suits like armor and flamboyant Bettina even Pamela. That being said it is time to give Pamela a little more depth than editor, knitter and cat lady. I was truly disappointed that she did not go out with Richard. Come on already they both acted like middle school kids when Richard ask her out. If not Richard then someone to go to dinner with at the very least. She doesn't need a man but a different perspective would be nice. Also please not so much with the wedding china and Bettina's sage green dinnerware. I was tempted to count how many times the same descriptive phase was used on the wedding china .I like the series because it remains true to the knitting group and that is why I began the series in the first place.

Beyond boring
The "filler" is most of the book. The mystery is weak, the progression is weak. Richard, the former romantic interest finds someone new, and immediately finds a new home for his cat because this dame thinks a black cat would be a bad start for their relationship. He should have dumped the woman. Pets are not disposable. Pamela should have realized then what a weak jerk Richard is.I do think this is the end of the series for me. I just skimmed most of this book, and am so glad it was just 99 cents. I did like the first book, but they have gone downhill since that one.

Too much fluff and no substance
This is the first book I’ve read in this series and I won’t be reading any others. Too much descriptive fluff - every time they drink coffee, she describes how the coffee drips through the cone and each time coffee is poured it’s into “wedding china” - I don’t ready care that the cups are wedding china. What really had me laughing is how when Pamela was editing an article and it was described as being too wordy and needed to be more concise. This book is way too wordy - it’s like she had word count to reach and needed all these extra words to make sure she hit her word count. Also, every time she sees Bettina, it’s like a fashion show description of what she’s wearing. I generally enjoy knitting mysteries, but I won’t be reading any more of these.

Comfy cozy, but too much boring detail.
As a mystery fan and a knitter I have stuck with this series but it's getting a bit tiresome. There is way too much detail about what Pamela buys at the grocery store, makes for lunch, etc., etc. And yes I know she uses her wedding china. Also, I know she has no interest in clothes, but her idea of dressing up is to put on clean jeans. This woman acts more immature than her daughter. I'll probably stick with it but c'mon.

One of the worst books I have ever read.
Stupid story. Too much detail about food, crumb cake and lengthy details of nothing. Even the ending was totally ridiculous.

Not A Mystery
This book was too much like a recipe book and a fashion book instead of a mystery. I will still follow this author.

A good cozy mystery, easy to read...
The 5th book in the Knit and Nibble series ands this time it's personal! One of the members is accused of murdering the town Mayor, so it's up to Pamela and Bettina to clear their name.Of course, there are knitting tips, along with recipes in the book as usual. An enjoyable, easy to read, cozy mystery series which is well worth adding to your too read list.I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Knitting, food, and mystery
I enjoyed this book. Anything that combines knitting and mystery is likely to attract me. I was intrigued by the sub-plot of trees that had been selected to be removed suddenly gaining knitted "sweaters" to hide the red Xs. There was, of course, the necessary death but it was handled well. The book illustrates the camaraderie that groups of knitters have and how they protect their own when one is threatened (as is the case in this book where one of the knitters is accused of murder). At a time when the world is a strange place to be in, this book is a delightful reprieve. I am now going to explore others in the series.

Too Long
The story was interesting but it was way too long for what it was.Would have made a good short story though. I found the writing very repetitive how many times do you need to note that the plate was sage green, I would have liked more character development. Sorry to be so negative.
