Easy Install, works great - hope it last a long time - Well Water
I have a well and water has been tested to be quite on the hard side. We do have a small amount of iron but overall the water is quite clean. There was quite a distinct earthy smell in our ice cubes and tap water, after it was left in a bottle for a day. The priority was on a softener system to save our appliances and my wife's hair. I wanted to add filtration to our house anyways hoping to get rid off that smell and improve overall taste. I wanted a system that is easy to maintain and lasts a while. I installed all of it myself and with some pex piping, this was a simple job. I ordered the $80 kit suggested with this system and it provides everything you need to install. I did not want to spend the extra money on the UV light as I didn't think it was necessary. I also didn't want to install a reverse osmosis system as I have learned quite a few bad things about those. They actually filter all of the good minerals out of the water as well. Marketing has come that far that we think NOTHING in the water means CLEANER! But there are lots of good things in the water that I didn't want to filter out - so no reverse osmosis for me. This Aquasana system is hooked up to the whole house and the outdoor faucets as well. So the well water goes into the pressure tank - then into the water softener (This unit backwashes ever so often and filters the larger sediment as well as softens the water) - then the water goes through the filter. After that it goes into the hot water tank. I did not notice a decrease in pressure and the water is very clean and soft. However, after we "forget" the water in the kids water bottles for a few days, we get a hint of that earthy smell again. The ice cubes and tap water are great - i guess it just comes after a few days. This leads me to believe that there may be some bacteria in the ground (no dangerous ones as I have tested) that probably produce this smell. But overall this was a huge improvement and I am happy that my clothes get washed with clean water, and all appliances get soft water as well. I think this might have been overkill - but at least this should last for 10years.

Nice quality , easy install
Nice whole house filter since I installed it we notice no more odor and tase which I love.. juts need to come up with a better filter cartridge that would last more then 6 months .. I install a water softener and UV light My water now tastes as good as most high end brands Was easy diy install took me about two hours

Greagbtasting water now.
This was easy for my husband to install, however he said that someone not having any experience may struggle with the directions. We live in the desert and have truly awful water. When ice from a filtered ice maker can make Coke taste nasty, you know you have awful water. Our water was giving the laundry a bad smell unless I used very large amounts of fabric softener. Now, the ice has now bad taste and the laundry smells clean. The water tastes like purified bottled water. Definitely a good choice. Would definitely recommend.

Works Great, but had problem with leaks
Our tap water was chlorinated to the point you could smell it as soon as your nose gets close to the glass with a very strong taste to the point of not wanting to drink it. After installing the 1,000,000 gallon version we have no smell or taste in the water, the water now has the taste of bottled water. Very happy with the filtering performance. The Kit was well put together you will need a PEX ring crimper to install it with the kit. The only problem I had was the inlet and outlet of the mail twin tank, they do not seem to be normal tapered pipe threading, I could twist a pipe fitting all the way in by hand, I had to take the whole thing apart to fix the leaks. Extra tape on the threads did the trick but still screws in further then would seem normal. I did not use or try the supplied fittings from the kit so that may have aggravated the problem. Also there is a 1" to 3/4" adapter installed on each side of the main tanks fittings that I did not realize were there and they leaked because I did not tighten them further before installing the 3/4" pipe.

DON’T BUY - AQUASANA WONT HELP - FILTERS LEAK
I tried to refrain from leaving a bad review but after contacting the Aquasana manufacturer directly and sending these pictures. Suddenly I was shot down because I didn’t buy through them directly So I was not registered with them aka they won’t help! I actually build homes for a living so I had one of my licensed plumbers install this system. All I can say is thank goodness he had his truck onsite with more couplings and pipe to hurry and eliminate the first bigger first. Anyone can notice the screw holes where we previously installed the first bigger filter. You can also notice the picture labeled where each side of both filters leaked. YES both filters same exact locations! They immediately started to leak so we had to cut all the PVC back out follow the manufacturer instructions exactly still didn’t work they both failed again. I have now since thrown both of these filters away and replaced with my plumbers Big Blue filters similar to the filters Aquasana offered here. The shear fact that Aquasana totally dismissed helping is beyond me. When you spend $800 + on anything and their answer is we can’t help you because you didn’t buy it directly through us is sad. Do no buy this product at all!

No regrets zero taste water
Had this system in for a week and very happy, I passed on the water conditioning and uv add one because people complained about taste and flow issues. I personally love my water now. It has zero taste, not even chlorine, better than bottled water in my opinion. Just feels like you have something wet cold and refreshing in your mouth. As far as flow issues. I haven’t noticed any change in my water pressure n any part of my 2 bath two story home. Both shower running dishwasher and laundry and plenty of pressure. If your the diy type and have done a water heater then you can probably do this yourself. Kit comes with everything show to connect pre post and tank filters together. The shut off valves reducer and t connector are all pex. If you was to run pvc or copper you would need to connect manufacturers to get different fitting mailed out. Also have to buy your own crimp rings and a crimper and a stick of pipe for the bypass loop. I’m didn’t own a crimper so this project cost me an additional 100$ at the hardware store with the crimper tool being 50$. I honestly feel like it would of cost the same to have a plumber install because he would have that tool snd material already. As far as assembly I’d like to start by saying read instructions, I skimmed, I flushed as requested per instructions then I assembled as I would of installing water heater, then the next day I read the instructions before going to the hardware store to get the crimp rings I needed for pex conversion. Clearly stated in instructions it says use thread tape and do not use pipe dope. Well I had already used pipe dope so figured I’d give it a try anyway because I’ve never had it fail me before, sure enough it was right. I had leaks at both reducers from 1” to 3/4” ends. I disassemble and wiped relatively clean, put thread tape on on all threaded connections and no issues since

Fitting connections are leak prone.
Plastic fittings are very leak prone. Not sure if it's because it's softer than sched 40 pvc or something else. This is the second one I've installed at two different properties. The filter itself reduced solids in my water from nearly 500 ppm to about 270 ppm measured at my kitchen faucet using a Zero Water device.

Great product
The instructions call for a professional installation. I ignored that part of the instructions and installation was easy. Shut-off valves and Pex components are good quality. You will need some ¾" Pex pipes, a tool to cut the Pex, ¾" crimp rings and a ¾" Pex Crimping Tool to complete the installation (or a plumber ;-) I have city service for water. The water is not hard, is pretty good, but defineately has an after taste to the unfiltered water. This filter system removed all of the after taste. All of the house water (cold and hot) is filtered by this system. The water tastes great wether directly from the tap or through the fridge dispenser and there is no noticeable drop in presuure. Shortly after the install, we had a ruptured water main. The supply lines completely seperated from the city line and mud was forced into our water lines. The 20" pre filter prevented a catastrophe. The water in the house was never turbid and none of the faucets, fridge (with water dispenser) or laundry machines were damaged by the dirty water.

A great water treatment system.
As a water filtration system it works great. As a water softener, it does not compare to a regular salt based softener. I base this on the fact, the water still leaves my skin feeling dry and itchy and I get hard water marks left on the shower glass door. The water is crystal clear and tastes great. I may add a conventional softer after the Aquasauna system. When installing make sure you use pink thread tape and the correct pipe adhesive, Install was a breeze with the PEC system. You may need to build a structure as I did to install the filter housing. Since writing this article, I found that I need the water softener tank to go with the filtration unit. I have ordered this part and will add my findings to this article once installed and tested for a few weeks.

Good filter
I like the cleaner water without chlorine, which makes my hair and skin softer. Just we had a problem when installing them as it was leaking through the connections so we had to glue them together.

Missing all of the "pro" components
Item was missing the pre/post filter, all of the tubing. Only the main tank was shipped. Returned.

Missing the rhino tanks and pro instal kit.
It's a great system. Bought this to replace the current 5 year filter but all that came was the pre and post filter casing. No rhino tanks and no pro instal kit. Bought this off warehouse deals if that makes a difference. 800 dollars for 2 pieces of plastic.
