Fit the1.5 pipe nice and snug. Did not find the knob to be overly tight as other reviews. Works well for my application to control the waste draining from my pond filter. The only thing to note is the ball valve is not full port so a fully open flow maybe slightly slower as expected. It is still very fast/free flow.

This was exactly what we needed for our pool system. Fit perfectly, easy to install.

I just wanted a simple, effective, and affordable PVC ball valve. To be fair this is a ball valve and it is affordable. But it's the effective part that this item fails greatly at. I tried to open it and it would go. I then used a wrench and a vice and it still wouldn't turn. What is the point of a valve if it can't open and close without you having to call Iron Man to brute force it? My advice, find a better model. And after reading the other reviews in more detail I know I'm hardly the only one seeing this outcome.

Worked great to replace valve on pool.

Wanted to add a ball valve to the new sump pump I was installing. This one fits the bill and has been working perfectly since day one. A great option for anyone looking for a ball valve.

Bought 9 of these in early 2015 to redo the plumbing in my pool. Item arrived quickly and in good condition but I would not buy these valves again. As other reviewers have noted, the action on the valve is EXTREMELY stiff and the handle material (blue in the photo) is EXTREMELY flimsy. Before installing the valves, I used silicone grease (Jack's) to lubricate the mechanism internally however this had little effect upon the valve action. It is now about a year and a half since installation and the handles that are used frequently have all cracked. I tried using a pipe clamp to keep the valve handle together however it is not effective because the space between the handle and the valve body is too tight to allow the clamp to fit. As the handles break, the plastic stem is now exposed on the valve. If I use a metal pliers or wrench to turn it, I am beginning to round off the stem--making it that much harder to open and close. As anyone who has replaced these types of valves knows, you need to cut the pvc off in order to reinstall new ones. This requires unions and makes for a messy job if you don't have sufficient pvc length in place. A real p.i the a. Manufacturer should offer replacement handles or redesign the unit so that it is both easier to operate and more robust. Despite the low price, I cannot recommend these. UPDATE: Contacted manufacturer who shipped replacement valves. Same poor design but impressive customer care nonetheless. Would like to be able to upgrade review based solely on good warranty performance.

Can't turn the knob. This thing is so tight it got stuck in this position. I think I even pulled a muscle trying to move it again. Unless you're supper strong don't buy this. It's going back and I'll just pay a few dollars more at Lowe's.
