Pocket-Sized, Surprisingly Capable, and Now a Permanent Resident in My Travel Bag
Iโve owned quite a few electric razors over the years, and like many people, my benchmark has always been the Panasonic ARC5โthe heavyweight champion of electric shaving. If youโre curious, hereโs the one Iโm referring to: https://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-Electric-ES-LV65-S-Flexible-Pivoting/dp/B00JWP8F3I/ref=sr_1_6?sr=8-6 The ARC5 delivers an incredible shaveโฆbut letโs be honestโit also takes up a decent chunk of space. Itโs more of a countertop appliance than something you casually toss into a pocket. Then thereโs the Braun MobileShave M-60b. The first thing that surprised me wasnโt how well it shaved. It was how unbelievably tiny it is. Pictures online really donโt prepare you for the size. In person itโs shockingly compactโroughly smaller than a Coke can, incredibly thin, and Iโd estimate itโs around 60% smaller than my Panasonic ARC5. The first time I held it I actually laughed because it looked like someone had accidentally shrunk an electric razor in the wash. That tiny size is exactly what makes it brilliant. This isnโt trying to replace your premium bathroom shaver. Itโs trying to solve a different problem. Business trip? Throw it in your laptop bag. Weekend getaway? Fits in any toiletry kit. Keep one in your desk drawer? Easy. Glove compartment? No problem. Iโve even considered leaving one permanently in my carry-on because it occupies almost no space whatsoever. The protective cap is another feature I appreciate. It completely covers the foil head, so I never worry about damaging it while itโs bouncing around in a backpack or suitcase. Thatโs something many travel gadgets forget. Power is refreshingly simple. It runs on two AA batteries, meaning thereโs no charger to pack, no proprietary cable to lose, and no panic when you realize you forgot to charge it before leaving home. If the batteries die, any convenience store, airport kiosk, or gas station can get you back in business within minutes. As for the shave itself? Considering its size, I was genuinely impressed. No, it isnโt intended to outperform a full-size premium razor costing several times as much. That would be an unfair comparison. But for touch-ups, daily maintenance, travel, or cleaning up before a meeting, it performs far better than I expected. It handled a dayโs worth of stubble comfortably without pulling or excessive irritation. I also appreciate Braunโs straightforward design philosophy. No flashy LED displays. No Bluetooth. No companion app telling me how badly I shave (because apparently everything needs an app now). Just flip the switch and shave. Sometimes simple wins. The build quality also feels reassuringly solid. Despite being lightweight, it doesnโt come across as cheap or disposable. It feels like one of those gadgets youโll own for years because thereโs simply very little to go wrong. If you already own a premium electric razor like the Panasonic ARC5, donโt think of this as a replacement. Think of it as the perfect sidekick. The ARC5 stays home. The Braun MobileShave goes everywhere else. After using it, I honestly canโt imagine traveling without it anymore. It solves a problem I didnโt realize I had until now, and it does so while taking up barely any room in my bag. For frequent travelers, commuters, office workers, or anyone who likes looking presentable without hauling around a full-size shaver, this little guy earns an easy five stars.

Good shaver, bad battery's
Toss the batteries. Had several shaves, things went pretty good. Fifth shave batteries died, pulled lots of hair. Yikes. Replaced batteries with Duracell. Works great.

Good value (price:performance) but it requires you shave close FIRST.
Not an amazing foil razor, have to go over everything a dozen times. However-- if you do go over things a dozen times, it eventually works and if doesn't cut you. For the price it's still worth getting. Shave close before using this and it'll take it down to almost skin level. (Like all foil razors, but this one's a bit harder to get to work for some reason)

Have the right expectations and this is a good deal
I have gone back and forth on electric razors for years between wanting one and backing off because of some review I saw. I like how close a regular razor works, and would even do a straight blade if I had the patience or the time, but when I saw this and how cheap it was, figured it was worth a try and I have been pleasantly surprised. A lot of the reviews out there are not setting the proper expectations for this product. It is a TRAVEL electric razor, not some high dollar 7 or 9 series Braun (at the time of writing this, they are pretty universally considered the industries best/standard). What can you expect when people compare a $17 razor to a $200+ razor? So with the right expectations, here are some things to note that I like and don't like (and a few comments): 1) It runs on AA batteries. Nothing worse than going on a trip and thinking "nah, I can avoid bringing the charging cable" only to have the built in battery die on you 3 days into the your 7 day trip. With this, pop into the hotel gift shop and grab a set of AA's and you're back in business. 2) This is an electric razor....DO NOT press it hard into your skin! Not only will you wear out the blades and guard, but you risk the razor cutting you. You glide it over your skin so the hairs can go in the guard and be cut by the blade. 3) The built in rotating cover and brush are handy so everything is in one unit while traveling. 4) For $17 (price when I bought it), while traveling if I need to cut weight for my bag or it breaks or it gets lost or forgotten, its not the end of the world. Yeah, it is annoying but I'm not going to let $17 affect my mood or ruin a trip. Taking my family to McDonald's for dinner costs more than that! Skip a meal or 2 like that and eat at your hotel/home and you can buy a replacement with the savings. 5) Don't expect this to be high dollar quality. It will last you awhile but if you use it daily for 6 months or more, you got your value out of it and go buy another one. The replacement blades and cleaning cartridges for the high end Brauns will cost you upwards of $60 a year or more on top of the $200 price tag of the unit...You could get 3 of these travel models for the cost of the maintenance of the 7 series in 12-18 months. And if one of these lasts you 6+ months...3 will last you 18+ months so you just saved yourself the $200 initiation fee to be in the 7 series club and still have an OK shave. 6) It does an OK job for a shave but you can't have a lot of growth so it is a daily use kind of a razor. If I miss a day, its easier to get back to the electric razor routine after using shaving cream and a manual razor for a day. My expectations were accurate for traveling and the convenience of being able to shave while I am going about my business with kids, work, etc which helps me get a few minutes more of sleep at night on those rough days. Not for a daily use product expecting an excellent smooth shave. If that's what you want, my bet is an electric razor is not for you. Remember to have the right expectations for the product and this turns out to be a good deal.

My Third one! Great item for a quick and easy clean shave!
The Braun Electric Razor has served me extremely well! This lightweight mobile razer uses 2 double A batteries, but those batteries last a LONG time. Additionally, it comes with a hidden brush for easy cleaning and folds up to be put away easily. After 3 of these razers, I've finally left a review, but I am extremely happy with the quality and usage for price. Keep in mind, this being my third, doesn't mean it didn't last. My previous two were lost while moving, so I had to replace it, and no other mobile razer works quiet like these. But I would say, each one lasted about 5-6 years before being lost. The Braun mobile electric razer is definitely a perfect product for the price and I would highly recommend anyone who needs clean shaves and shaves frequently.

Great name, but bad shaver. Stay away.
Updated review. I took it on a 2 week vacation and the original batteries were dead in just 7 days. I don't have a thick beard and usually shave in 90 seconds. I noticed the shaver didn't shave any hairs that were not shaved on my haste 2 days prior. At the end of 14 days my face looked terrible. As there is no trimmer. I took off the foil and tried cutting the hairs that way, it didn't work. Small, lightweight, solid electric shaver. It has a protective cover that precludes it from turning on by accident. It is small, so it takes a little longer to shave. Only downside is that it uses regular batteries.

Good product but could be better
I mean it works but not as great as I would like it to. I have to go over the same area several times. I like it because it is small and easy to carry on trips. Plus it uses battery.

Easy to use
Works good, had the first one for over 15 years. Only replaced because it is a battery deal than buying a replacement blade.

Good for all usage!
As a buyer of several products ranging from US$10 - US$50 of different kind of shavers, i am quite skeptical of most shavers below US$50 as most of it either nicks or cause redness/irritation. After trying this out for the first time, i am honestly quite impressed! I used it for my chin, then i proceeded to try on my underarm, and also my private areas. Overall, it is fantastic! Although i must say, before you use this product, ensure your body hair are trimmed. This item dont work well with long hair.
