Perfect replacement! Saved our vacation and still going strong
When the original power adapter for our Coleman thermoelectric cooler died while we were on vacation, we needed a reliable replacement fast. This power supply adapter turned out to be the perfect solution. It works just like the original plugged into standard outlets and has held up exceptionally well since we bought it. It gets our hot/cold cooler up to temperature quickly and runs smoothly without overheating or cutting out. Highly recommended if you need a direct replacement or a backup power source for home, office, dorm, or vehicle travel!

7 weeks of continuous use--PERFECT so far (see Update)
I've been using this to power a 12 v cooler in the house for several weeks now. No problems, no extra heat (power converter base is slightly warm to touch, but not hot). It's a great gadget. I plan to use it to travel cross country with the powered cooler, running the cooler off the car battery in the day and using this at night in the hotel. Trip last year with an unpowered cooler was a constant hassle, refreezing blue ice if I could get a room with a fridge, or dealing with ice and subsequent water, moving food from cooler to fridge and back every day, constant anxiety about keeping my food cool traveling through the southwest in the summer. This way, I'll have to lug the small cooler into my room at night, but that beats lugging it in, moving the food to the fridge and back, trying to refreeze the blue ice or fill with ice ( just LOVE cheese soaked all day in water).... Also handy for using my 12v airbed inflator in the house. I'll update this review if the product fails over the next 4 months, but so far, 7 weeks of constant use, I'm thrilled! UPDATE: I can't say it's "perfect" anymore. My comment about the airbed inflator was premature. It did not supply enough power to run it effectively. It ran, but it took 20 minutes to inflate a very small (cot size) air mattress HALF way. I thought the inflator was bad but when I plugged it into the car cigarette lighter, it fully inflated the bed in less than a minute. I don't understand this because it is a 12 V compressor, but obviously something about the output is changing. Still working perfectly for the cooler, though.

Works fine, around 40 degrees below ambient while on car battery. But 30 degrees below ambient on AC/DC converter.
We recently used this for the first time on a week-long trip. I bought the AC/DC converter for the trip. While the car engine was running, and for short periods of time off, the cooler was powered by the vehicle. At night I ran a long extension into the nearest family house and ran it that way. Note that with the Coleman converter the cooler does NOT run at the same efficiency as either on the car battery OR on a 10-amp DC power supply that I have. It kept smoked meats and sausages cold (not frozen) and that was good enough for our purposes. Everyone should heed the comment in the owner's manual that says "If you leave this plugged into your vehicle overnight, your vehicle will not start in the morning." ... I heeded it and had no problems.

Replacement found: Coleman Thermoelectric Cooler 120-Volt Adapter
Our AC adapter failed while at WDW. Glad it happened while we were still in our room before hitting the parks for the day! Found this replacement here on Amazon and plugged it in after comparing it to our bad one: G601-1250; our new one is G602-1250. All the other Specs were the same. We let it work a couple of hours on AC and no problem. Glad I only had to replace the Adaptor, since the cooler still worked just fine on our trip home. Thanks for a cheaper fix with an Authentic replacement from Coleman! (Next stop would have been eBay...)

Glad I found it
I had a hard time finding one of these. I purchased my Coleman cooler at Target and I couldn't find an adapter anywhere after I left mine at a relatives during a trip. It works as advertised. It is a little spendy but decided to go with a brand name rather than a knock-off because I wanted to be sure it worked. My previous one had worked for several years. I have owned 3 of these and only one quit on me.

Regulated 5 amp power supply
I first got one of these several years ago when it came with a powered cooler. I didn't use it a lot, but now got another to use as a charger for a "jump-start" battery. The reason I'm using it is because it is regulated to 14V, so if I leave it plugged in accidentally it will not damage the battery. I've left other "chargers" plugged in for over 24 hours (possibly damaging the battery since they raised the voltage to over 15V) and considered getting a solar regulator to "fool-proof" things with them, but those regulators cost $18 versus this for under $20, so this seems simpler combining the regulator and supply together. The only other item you need to make it work for that purpose is a cord like the Clore ESA1 with male plugs on each side. Otherwise it has worked well running the cooler or other 12V items.

Then I searched on Amazon and found this at very good price. Tested at home and works great
I bought the Coleman Thermoelectric cooler but it did not include the 110V to 12V adaptor. Visited several local stores but nobody has this Coleman adaptor. Then I searched on Amazon and found this at very good price. Tested at home and works great! Just waiting for my next camping trip to take this with me. Product was packed in original Coleman box and arrived 4-5 days earlier than estimated delivery. I love this adaptor and recommend to buy this original Coleman adaptor instead of equivalent adaptors on the market.
