“A surprisingly fresh take on the classic children's ABCs book.” A “Best Book of 2019.” — Vanity Fair A fun way to inspire children’s imagination and creativity!” —Serena Williams “Art connects us all on the deepest level and this book will inspire young minds.” —Ken Griffin, founder & CEO of Citadel, trustee of the Art Institute of Chicago, and trustee of the Whitney Museum of American Art Learn the alphabet through fine art! Spark your child’s creativity and curiosity with this delightfully curated alphabet book featuring some of the world’s most iconic paintings. In this collection, your child will discover artwork by Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent van Gogh, Mary Cassatt, and many others. Help them locate the earring in Vermeer's Girl with the Pearl Earring , teach them different colors while examining Monet's Water Lilies , and count the pieces of fruit in Cezanne's The Basket of Apples. With a fun rhyming scheme and large, colorful text, ABCs of Art will inspire your budding art lovers as they learn the alphabet and new words by finding objects in paintings. Then, as your child grows, you can read the playful poems aloud together and answer the interactive questions that accompany each painting. Review: Masterful and inspiring to all - I'm in my 30's, no kids - potentially not the intended audience here (or so I thought). And yet, when I came across this book, I felt drawn to it. Assuming that I could always give it away as a baby gift, I pulled the trigger. Boy am I glad I did. While I may buy more copies to gift, I will certainly be keeping this one. This unassuming piece, disguised as a children's book about art, is actually a masterful work of art in its own right. The rhythmic narration harmonizes gracefully with each painting. The language is accessible, yet deeply layered (just like the cover). I continue to find new subtle nuggets that amaze and inspire me even after several reads through. Of course, the curation of the art itself is world class. The collection ranges from ancient Egypt to modern day, and the thoughtful progression through the alphabet is a pleasure to experience. Alas, the fit and finish here is also well done. Everything from the textured and vibrant cover, the rounded kid-safe corners, appealing fonts, and sturdy card stock balance function and pizzazz nicely. Bottom line - Ms Hahn has not simply given the world a survey course of art history that can be appreciated by all... though that she certainly has done. But she has also created a beautiful and impactful work that I would recommend to all ages, races, and creeds. A world with more copies of ABCs of Art out there will be a better world. Review: A great introduction to fine art for little ones! - I gifted this book to our two granddaughters for Christmas last year. At two years of age, they each enjoyed alphabet books. Each two-page spread features the letter of the alphabet along with brief text on one side and a well-known painting on the opposite side. As each girl learned to recognize the letters of the alphabet in order, they also enjoyed studying the paintings and looking for details. A year later, this is still a favorite book of each of the girls, and I anticipate that they will continue to go back to it to enjoy the paintings as they grow. With a little bit of encouragement, they can learn to distinguish between different artists by the style of paintings, and perhaps will eventually be able to recognize the artists by their other works when the encounter them. I highly recommend this book both for teaching the alphabet and for introducing little ones to fine art!

Excellent book
This book is an excellent way to introduce your child to art appreciation and art history. The book is high quality and a great concept with stunning art. We got the board book so our young daughter won’t destroy or rip paper pages. It is large and the perfect size and durability for a toddler. The pictures are wonderful and make an excellent jumping off point for conversations about everything from colors and numbers to the artist’s life.

Love this book!
This book is a great size (10x8.5) and is a hardcover with board book type pages. The art work is beautiful and many classics are represented! Each page has a short rhyme introducing the painting. And there is a fun questions to draw readers into the painting. As a reading teacher and art lover, I can't say enough how much I love this book. I've paid more for less enjoyable, less substantial books.

High quality, thoughtful art/ABC book for children
Beautiful book! It’s very high quality print and materials too. The cover is actually a linen material (see closeup picture). It’s also much larger than I thought. For some reason I thought it was small board book size but it’s actually almost the size of standard sheet of paper (see picture with battery for reference). It’s really such a lovely book. My 4 year old daughter really enjoys going through it with me. The rhyming text is also really great. And incorporating artist names in the text of the rhymes also helps my daughter remember the names. I love that my daughter is getting an age appropriate intro into art history. The questions on each page are also a great way to keep kids engaged and looking deeper at the beautiful paintings. Also the large font ABCs are perfect for little fingers trace in preparation for writing. I’m so glad to have gotten this for my daughter.

Wonderful book to grow with
I am very excited to read this to my son. He's still a little young to sit through the whole alphabet, but so far he loves the pictures and was feeling them as I read. I love the art masterpieces chosen for this book. They are quality and definitely the artists and pictures everyone should be familiar with. I also like the questions above each picture so my 1 year old can grow with the book and point to Mona Lisa's hand, count apples, and really get more out of the book than the A,B,C's. It is also a very impressively sturdy book. Very quality and worth the splurge!
