I have always liked the “portfolio” type iPad cases, where you can open it like a magazine.This is a solid choice and the best case I have gotten, personally.I have had an ESR case and a Pro Case (in 2021- but they all chipped and shattered, even though my iPad sits on my couch). It was likely the quality of plastic during the supply chain issues, since it was so brittle, but I imagine newer cases are better.This case is what I wanted. It’s not too thin, it adds protection, it adds a really strong magnetic kickstand for different viewing angles and has some cut outs in the back (hidden behind the kick stand) for passive venting of the iPad as it charges… that’s important to not let thermal heat ruin your battery, so this should help.Granted this case is much thicker than slim cases like ESR, it’s what I wanted… I wanted something thicker and better quality so I never need to buy another case again or have another case (from another brand) crack on me again.The fitment is awesome, the microfiber interior cover has been changed to microfiber on the back and a soft dimpled fabric on the front cover interior (to stop picking up debris when you use the stand since you have to fold the cover as a base, so it touches surfaces).Anecdotally, when I had microfiber cases that had microfiber in the front, it picked up all sorts of debris and left faint marks on my cover (that I could wash off), just from the dirty cover on top of the iPad (from letting it touch surfaces when I was choosing a display angle)… so that’s another plus. The fact they don’t use microfiber for the interior cover is a good thing. The fabric in its place will protect just as well as microfiber and stop picking up debris.It has little icons for power and volume imprinted in the case, has a matte finish, and just feels solid. It feels expensive.The magnets are surprising strong.It does add bulk (like an Otterbox case), but this design is just so smooth. It’s better looking than other brands, and from what I understand, this is from a family owned US business, so you do not need to worry about cheap clones.The packaging looks cool too. It’s an unboxing experience sort of like Apple, where everything is clean and precise. It would make a good gift to.Plus the little stretch band for the Apple Pencil is appreciated. It doesn’t attach on the side like some other ZUGU cases, but that would only widen the size of the case so I’m glad I did not get the one that can charge an Apple Pencil while in the case by attaching it to the side.Overall, this is a legit case. It’s quality. It fits well. It looks cool. The magnets are strong. It’s from a real company, and is not a clone of another item.If you like Portfolio style iPad cases, need a kickstand, and want protection, this is the case to get.I spent 2-3 hours searching for cases and landed on this, so use the time I spent finding the best case, to help make your purchasing decision. This is a legit case, and I am very very picky.It is a solid product. If you like this design get it. My iPad feels and looks protected… and honestly, the blacked out case looks amazing.I am not finding any faults yet at all.

I’m attached to my iPad at least 8-10 hours a day, and I have gone through covers at least yearly. I need a cover to be sturdy, fit perfectly, be lightweight, and adjust position for work and reading quickly and firmly. In addition, I want it to be easy to clean, have sleek lines, and a textured surface that won’t slip out of my hands.This Zugu is clearly designed to meet all my needs without compromise. And it has features (like built in venting to reduce heat buildup) that I hadn’t considered. The materials seem carefully selected for endurance.And it has protected my workhorse of an iPod several times already as it crashed to a hard-surface floor. Which is, of course, the single most important function of an iPad cover. After years of tossing out second-rate covers that got floppy and had weak support structures, I’ve found my go-to supplier! At least as long as insane trade wars allow it.

The iPad case I just bought (for a gen 9 iPad) is actually my second Zugu case. I've lived with the first one (for a gen 5 iPad) for 4-5 years and I still like it as well as I did on day one. Yes, it costs 2-3 times as much as most of the prior cases I've owned but is, in my opinion, worth it. I love the strength of the magnets that hold the case in a variety of "propped up" positions, which is the way I always use my iPad. I also use a stylus (don't like fingerprints on the screen) which has a magnetic pocket clip. I normally just pop the magnetic clip onto the case's stand magnet where it is held securely until I need it again. When I travel, the case folds up sleekly and compactly providing protection for my iPad as well as a more secure sleeve for my stylus (or an Apple pencil, if that's your stylus of choice). Not that this really matters but the case comes nicely packaged (tissue wrap, inside an Apple-like box)...it is a nice touch. Lastly, the durability is extraordinary. I am admittedly not hard on my stuff but prior cases have generally required replacement after 2-3 years (usually due to splitting at the plastic seams). My 4-5 year old Zugu case still literally looks like new and I am passing it on to a friend who still has a gen 5 iPad. My only gripe (a minor one) is that they charge $10 more for colors other than black. If you can get past the price, you won't be unhappy...plus, long-term (based on the need to replace lower cost cases), it might actually be the low cost solution since it holds up so well.

This is the best case I’ve ever had. It’s sturdy, made well. Lightweight. The best thing about this one is the magnetic stand/kickstand that supports it. It holds the screen up very well and makes it easier to type. My old one was a different brand and the kickstand was constantly collapsing which was super frustrating. This one is so much better already. The case was super easy to put on and it fits my iPad perfectly The volume/power/camera buttons are fully functional with the case on. This was an excellent purchase.
