Genuine BMW Registration License Plate Light Lens E46 316i 320i 323i 325i 328i 330i

Fits perfectly on my E46. Looks new just like the original part.

The license plate light cover came really fast. Did not fit as the original ones the Beamer camer with but in the end it worked out cause you have to get that small metal that clicks in the light holder in the right place. In other words bend it inwards so it will just fit in place at peace.

Let me start by saying how glad I am that I got a genuine BMW product.Please don't get the wrong idea here, but BMW did a horrible job designing this item.Now for the reflection:I spent days trying to figure out how to correctly install this product, but I came up with nothing. I purchased this because mine fell off one day and I have no idea where it disappeared. I tried numerous times to push this sucker into its spot, but I got nowhere. I asked a friend to help me out and we both got even more frustrated when we couldn't get a piece of plastic to stick in its spot.I finally found a way. SO maybe this will help you decide to buy it or not, but I figured out what I needed to do to get this installed. The simple answer is you just need to use a nose plier or a wire cutter tool. Using this tool, you just have to ben the one metal clip so that it tilts a little more up at a sort of 90-degree angle. You should end up with an upside-down letter U type of shape. The next step is to push the lens cover into its spot. I forgot how I put it in but it was either:-push left side in and then push the right side inor-push the right side in and then the left side inWithout doing that simple bend of a tiny metal, I could not get this lens cover into its spot. The fit is not very snug, which makes me scared, but I'll just have to be careful. I would advise against slamming your trunk lid because you might lose your lens cover.Conclusion: I love the fact that this is a genuine [roduct and not aftermarket. I'm glad it fits (after some forcing) and I'm hoping it won't fall off again. Oh and one more thing: if your lens cover falls off and you ignore it, you might get water damage in that spot and look at an even larger repair. I personally go through a car wash every week and that spot always had water clogged up in there, so it was a no brainer for me to purchase this lens cover. I highly recommend this purchase.

By the picture I thought it was just the lens, by the description I thought it was an assembly. The first thought was correct. If you are looking for a lens, this is it, perfect fit. If you are looking for the assembly (contacts, lens, housing and plug), this is not it. The E46 3 series plate light assemblies are made as one complete piece that includes the trunk grip and both license light assemblies as a complete unit. Highly recommend bavauto.com.
