Family Fortunes: How to Build Family Wealth and Hold on to It for 100 Years

What Charles Bukowski is to daily American "undergrounds" life , Bill Bonner is to economic matters minus Buk's booze , women and craziness. Both are master anti-establishment , care little about the 1% or whatever. Bill's prose is delight to read .I love reading both of them.

Not agree with some points, but still very good read

This book is a rare insight on the way wealthy families flurish and prosper irrespective of external influences..it offers an alternative view that is opposite to current prevailing world view. It offers a conservative and narrow path to wealth that only the deserving can adhere.. I dont agree to all that is shared. However I recommend this as an interesting read ..

There are a few interesting topics but they get lots amid so much. I don't recommend it. Boring and I feel that I wasted my time and money.

The book has 3 maybe 4 solid chapters with "must" follow ideas and recommendations for family businesses. Chapters 2, 3, 8, 9 provide those ideas. The rest of the book is ok but not exiting nor does it provide new ideas.

I've been a fan of Mr Bonner's writing for over 7 years now, having reading his ''daily reckoning'' and now his ''diary'' e-newsletters. The book showed me how far away I am from having family money, and gave me plenty to bear in mind if I ever intend on creating a bank of me. People in the know would probably have plenty to say about what it misses out, but this is a good place for me to start, and offers plenty of hooks for me to ask questions, it's not about letting the book do the thinking for you.
