This was a lovely journal. I was pleased with the quality, it was better than I'd expected! I gave it to a gentleman who'd "always wanted a journal", and he loved it. The leather gives it that earthy look, which is great for a guy OR a gal, and the "button" closure keeps it neat. Might even have to buy myself one. :)

This journal is absolutely awesome. Rich, warm and feels like home. Paper is rustic and hearty. The inner lining is fabric which makes if feel cozy and inviting. I LOVE IT!! Well made and the elastic band makes it so easy to open and stuff with stuff. I painted the outside of mine with acrylic paints and it looks like a beautiful masterpiece.

The nose knows what it wants...and THIS ain't it people. This is a crime against expectations, and olfactory nerves. To be on tinter-hooks, impatiently awaiting that moment you can stuff your face between the covers of a journal and deeply inhale that perfect, warm, comforting, primal scent of genuine cowhide...and then the moment comes and instead of experiencing euphoria only the way true, genuine leather can give...your nose is violently accosted with the nauseating chemical odors of some plastic-like material. To be sure, this product only vaguely resembles leather in appearance.This was intended as a personal, private gift. If all anyone wants to do is keep a record of their thoughts, any kind of paper will do...but it's how that paper is preserved that matters. Leather lasts lifetimes and thoughts and ideas are important and deserve to be preserved. I spent quite a bit of time choosing this product over all others within my budget. It was delivered sight-unseen 500 miles from home. I was upset to discover that the only piece of leather on this product was the dot on front pulling the elastic across the flap. Certainly not anything like I believed I had purchased.When our thoughts are preserved behind the musky veil of tanned cowhide, we feel a sense of peace and comfort, knowing the words that mean the most to us has a chance to live on long past our deaths, and possibly, connect with someone else in a far-future generation and across the world. Leather matters!Is this a journal? Yes.Is it easy to carry? Yes, I suppose.Is it handmade? I don't know. They mislead us about the leather, so...? However, I can see this being an easy DIY project.Is it vintage? No way of knowing, but sadly, doubtful.Are the pages blank? Yes.Does the elastic clasp on front work? Yes, it's the other reason I chose this journal over others.Will this journal suffice for recording anything written by hand? Yes, I imagine so...but so could a paper napkin, or writing in the sand...it just depends on how well you want your writings preserved.Do you believe this charlatan material adequate for preserving anything recorded within it's covers? I'm afraid for the future of anything I write within it's pages, because you see, it isn't genuine leather...but it's a chance I'll now have to take.Are you happy with this purchase? No, I want to cry. But also, it could've been worse. I'll hold my breath.Do you recommend this product? It is a simple, common, pad of paper wrapped in a darkly-stained leather lookalike material. If you are content with that then this will satisfy you.Does the quality match the price you paid? No, I value this product between $4 and $5, tops, after seeing, feeling and smelling the material and workmanship (not intending to downplay any skills involved).Any words for the seller? Yes, you've broken my heart. And cashed my $20. Please be more accurate in future product descriptions.

It Looks great and the hand stitching of the pages is classic. I really enjoy having this product, the only thing is it seems a tad bit small but it works exactly for what I need it to do (casual notes)

Excellent item for a gift. Nice simple construction also. I specially like the closure over the button. The back side of the button was a little rough and could rub against the other flap but a piece of tape over the metal solved the problem.

I bought this as a gift for my husband and the tree if life journal for our son. They both love the journal. The quality is excellent, from the weight of the paper to the leather binding itself. The size is perfect for a journal, small sketch pad, or writing recipes. I highly recommend this journal. With quality ink, this will last many years.

Cheap and nasty; I was too embarrassed to give this as a gift, so I kept it myself.
