I have pets so use plug in fresheners. If I use these will I still smell the plug ins?

I cannot give you a definitive answer as I don't have pets & I don't use plug in fresheners. 
Air purifying charcoal bags absorb odours, whilst air fresheners including plug in ones, mask the odour. I would switch off the plug in fresheners and just use the purifying charcoal bags for a good while to get the full benefit, then plug your fresheners back in to see if you gain anything one way or another. I have many of the charcoal bags around the home & in all our frequently used shoes and they definitely work on removing the odour.

Question 2

Do they need outside UV and fresh air to refresh, can they then be placed in airing cupboard to dry

Sadly they aren’t very good, not sure what’s inside them and if it is charcoal, how much, but they make no difference to refreshing. I placed them on open window ledges but the shoes themselves, which weren’t too bad but the smell didn’t change.

Will they get rid of ingrained cigarette smell.

Hi. We smoke. However, we have ducted air central heating and, even before having the bags, friends and other visitors always remarked that they could never trace any evidence of smoking in the house. There used to be a musky aroma around the waste bin and, to a lesser extent, elsewhere in the kitchen first thing in the mornings which might, just possibly, have been due to the ash trays being emptied into the bin. Within three weeks of buying the bags even that had disappeared. We now have 15 bags dotted around the house and even the whiff of spicy food, which we cook from time to time, disappears more quickly than it used to. Good luck with yours!

Do they work for musty smells out of teddies fabrics letter

I don't see why not but I think you'd probably have to put them in a bag and seal them up with the charcoal bag inside. It worked really well to get the musty smell out of furniture
