How to Practice Mayan Astrology: The Tzolkin Calendar and Your Life Path

I just started studying the Mayan calendar and Mayan astrology using this book along with Birgitte Rasine's Serpent and the Jaguar, and Kenneth Johnson's Mayan Calendar Astrology. Trouble is that there are so many inconsistencies between this book and the other two that my head is spinning from trying to bridge them. Unlike the authors of these other two books, the authors of How to Practice Mayan Astrology don't mention having any direct experience of working with Mayan daykeepers. So I am putting this book aside until I am more grounded in the Mayan system. Perhaps I'll dip in again and see if I can make sense of it. At present it is a source of confusion and I will work instead with those other two books for now. If anyone has any insight into the inconsistencies (elemental attributions, Mayan New Year days etc) please enlighten me.

Not that this is a horrible book, but if you have been learning about Mayan Astrology for quite some time, this is basic stuff. My real concern was also stated in a previous review ... I don't think all of the information is accurate. I was hoping this book would help me shorten the time I spend on chart readings, but this book just confused me ... and scared me that I was doing charts wrong this whole time. After double checking websites and other books, the dates and daykeepers in this book seem to be the only source of inconsistency.

Will need to sit down with this book when you have time to truly learn and understand all that’s in it. Really like the tables at the back of the book. Super helpful. Very interesting and accurate. Happy exploring!

Common information. Nothing new. Not helpful.

A detailed book with lots a tables in it so it saves a lot of time trawling to find your sign for your birth date

Leider gibt es keine deutsche Literatur zum Thema Maya Horoskop. Der Großteil des Buches besteht aus einem Kalender, mit dem man seine Maya Sternen Konstellation herausfinden kann, die Jahre von 1919 bis 2020 sind enthalten, man kann also ohne Hilfe von Computer oder Internet seine Daten berechnen. Leider können aber Menschen die ab 2020 geboren werden, nicht berücksichtigt werden, bzw. dann doch mit Internet als Hilfe.Der Deutungsteil ist mit ca. 120 Seiten sehr knapp ausgefallen ABER man bekommt mit den wenigen Seiten ein oft doch erschreckend genaues Bild über Menschen, sodass ich das Buch doch mit 4 Sternen empfehlen muss. Ich wünschte es gebe mehr und umfangreichere Literaur.

The book is thorough and they obviously did a lot of research. I thought it was a practical guide on how to practice Mayan Astrology but the results of the glyphs are different than what Jose Arguelles wrote about in the Mayan Factor, which is the basis for which I am doing Mayan Astrology. Again, great book, very detailed just a different way of doing things than i anticipated and not as clear a practical guide as I was looking for.

Il libro è arrivato puntualissimo, ed in buone condizione come descritto. E' scorrevole da legge e discretamente completo sull'argomento. L'unica pecca è che la fine del calendario è sino al 2018.. rimane comunque un buon libro.

I found this book very practical. I use it for myself and friends. Some friends were in different categories from the Mayan signs known in Japan.Paula Sato
