KettlePizza ProGrate & Tombstone Combination Kit for 22.5" Kettle Grills

I purchased this product for my 22.5 in. Weber grill. I have this along with the KettlePizza stainless sleeve. I had to make some mods to get it to work to my satisfaction. Because out of the box the top of the pizza doesn't cook as fast as the bottom. So I placed a spare grate on top of the KettlePizza sleeve, along with a pizza stone and covered it with heavy duty aluminum foil. That effectually reduces the volume that has to be heated. Between that and couple pieces of wood on top of the charcoal I'm getting good oven spring and N.Y. style cook times. Works very well. Sits nice and flush with the edge of the grill for ease of sliding the pizza in and out. The open sides help for adding fuel as needed when your making more then one pizza. All and all, good craftsmanship.

So glad I spent the extra money to add this to my Kettle Pizza kit. I now use this and can get such a great leoparding on my pizza crust. I use a little bit of japanese white oak charcoal, that can really build up heat for a long time, and I get the perfect temp for the kettle. The sides on the grate allow me to drop a couple chunks of hard wood to get the smoky flavor on my pizza. So much cheaper and convenient than building or buying a pizza oven.

Love it. I found that the stone takes a while to heat up. Be prepared add more charcoal before making that first pizza. It does not come with the ring that lifts the lid if you watch the videos on the kettle pizza.com site. That is in a different kit. I love how thick the stone is. When it is hot, it makes a great crust. To be clear, I use lump charcoal as I don't like the manufacturer recommended Kingsford. You do have to use small enough chunks to fit through spaces on the 3 sides. Don't try to remove the stone to do this to add more charcoal as the only open spaces to put your gloves are where the already burning charcoal is. I make a lot of home pizza with a stone in my oven, but nothing beats that smoky wood fired taste. I would give it 5 stars if stone was more secure in the grate or if there were handles on the grate to remove it for cleaning out the ashes. Even cold, the stone is unwieldy and a broken stone equals a frowning face.

It fits perfectly on our Weber grill. The construction is solid and it’s made in the USA. The customer service is excellent. We wouldn’t hesitate to do business with them again.

I think we are missing parts. I just have the wood box, the stone, and a metal ring. Did I misunderstand? I was expecting the Prograte to be a wide metal band with an opening to retrieve the pizza.

I really wanted to like this. 25+ year pizza griller and this seemed like a great idea. Bottom line is it doesn’t allow for temperatures to get hot enough to properly cook a homemade pizza. Reached out to seller and was informed that there would be a “large restocking fee” so have decided not to return, rather will just eat the disappointment. 2 stars as the customer service was responsive

This is the bomb. All the hype is worth it. A beautifully simple design and a joy to use.

Excellent product to compliment the Pizza Kettle fitted to the Weber BBQ - well worth having and makes really good pizza too!

The whole kit becomes quicker and safer to operate with this. It shouldn't be sold without it!
