My little kitty went through major surgery and needed a safe space were he could rest and recuperate. I looked through all the options on Amazon and finally plumped for the XL pen. The reason I chose this was due to it being completely enclosed, very airy and had plenty room for a bed, hide away, scratching wave, litter tray, water dish, food dishes and a heat pad area for lounging. When he first went in he did not like it one bit and really tried to get out. However following an accidental water spillage and the pen being placed upside down to dry the ground sheet (which does zip in and is not Velcro as other reviews suggest) he suddenly became very interested. He climbed in, on his own, and stayed there even when I was placing all the rugs, mats, towels etc in place. I don't know if the solid floor offers a bit of security as a roof, or if he just prefers the slightly lower "ledge" of the orange top bit to look out over but he doesn't even try to get out when I unzip the doors. One other benefit I didn't realise it had was the 2 zipped doors - it makes it so easy to get the litter tray out on one side and have easy access to food and water bowls on the other side. The only thing I would mention is that if a second cat is in the same room and they jump on the pen the roof and sides do collapse down quite quickly. This should be quite obvious when putting up the pen however when worried about a poorly cat sometimes you may not be thinking straight so I thought it was worth a mention. Overall I am incredibly happy with my purchase of the XL pen. My kitty has everything he needs all nicely enclosed in a safe space that promotes rest and recuperation.

Wanted this pen for my ill cat to recover in as I didn't like the idea of a metal cage. The product itself is great, sturdy, easy to assemble and looks well made. My only little grumble is that the measurements given online are not quite accurate. From whichever point you measure the diameter, it falls short. It's octagonal so if you go from the middle of one panel to the middle of the opposing panel it measures 102cms when assembled and if you go from the junction of 2 panels to the opposing junction of 2 panels it measures 112cms, not 120cms as described. As I say, it's only a small discrepancy, but I would have ordered the larger one if I'd known.

Bought this as an alternative to a metal cage when my cat broke her leg. Fab product easily assessable and easy to set up. The only improvement that would make it better is if there was additional mesh to be able to put hands in to comfort pet. Great product and a lifesaver to keep my little girl calm for 4 weeks while she recovered 😀

My two Westies love this pen and quite happily slept in it when we took it away on holiday with us. There was loads of room for both of their dog beds, blankets in the middle between their beds and a water bowl if you wanted. Assembled within seconds as you just unfold it and pop out the sides. Really pleased with this item, so handy for taking away on holiday with the dogs. Great travel bag to put the bed in to when folded up. It’s sturdy enough for two well behaved adult dogs and the XL size is tall enough that a Westie couldn’t jump out of it. There’s a zip on top that you could also attach if you wanted to add that.

bought this but misunderstood the measurements .......this is the biggest pen in the range .....too get areal size ,the pen consists of 8 spring out side panels. Each panel is 1mt 1cm tall and 67cm across so 5mt 36cm aprox in circumference. I returned as too large for my room .Shame I did not measure diameter ,but I packed it away to return.On this model the floor does NOT zip in as I read on other reviews..the net top does...but the floor has a few Velcro strips .I was trying to find a kitten pen birth on container...this did not do that job .Perhaps a smaller one with a zipped in floor might have done the trickIf you check out my other reviews I will show how I made a pen for a kitten from birth Pen :)

My indoor cat seems to like this. I wish it had a few more Velcro fasteners for security to attach the base as there is some "potential" gaping which a young, small or inquisitive pet might crawl through. I am going to attach some myself. This is why I have knocked one star off otherwise, I really like this. I use it outside.

Well worth the money - excellent quality - didnt want to put our cat in the cattery for 10 days so we bought this - it folds flat and we can now take it and our cat on hols to cottages and he has almost as much room as a standard cattery pen , (he exercises on a harness/ leash) easy to clean spills inside and we popped it out on the patio to give him fresh air too sometimes - will be ordering the next size down too for when we need to stay overnight at travelodge (this one a bit too large for that) and for use at home to keep him safe for 2 hours eg when we are having repairs done at the house - we will be gifting our heavy clunky steel crates to dogs trust now we have enjoyed the ease of this pen

If I could recommend one item to owners of a new pup-this would be it!!My border terrier/jack Russell cross is very happy and relaxed in here. It means he can sleep in my room without constantly pestering to get on my bed.Also great to go and do a few jobs.....put him in here, fill his kong puppy toy and he’s happy.
