Mario Badescu Special Cucumber Lotion | Non-Drying & Non-Irritating Facial Toner for Removing Excess Oil & Drying Up Breakouts | Revitalizing, Clarifying Astringent for Face

I have had acne problems since I was 11 years old (and I'm over 40), and this is the best product I've used (along with Mario Badescu's Acne Facial Cleanser, which I also highly recommend). It's not like an astringent, which does nothing but dry out your skin. Instead, it acts like a liquid moisturizer/conditioner for your skin, helping to rehydrate it after using the acne wash. I also use it right before I apply any makeup (which is rarely), and it preps my skin like any lightweight moisturizer would, except it doesn't clog or upset your pores. The scent is mild-citrusy-ish in nature, and not medicinal or alcohol-like in any way. Highly, highly recommend this product (and the Acne Facial Wash!!!)

This is the best toner I've ever used. I intend to use this literally for the rest of my life lol I have fair, sensitive, acne prone skin (and I'm a 26 year old guy). It dries out with most toners, which causes the vicious cycle of flaking, overreactive sebum, and breaking out. This toner cleans perfectly, leaves me feeling fresh and balanced, and has a nice scent. The green coloring is great at reducing redness too. A little goes a long way, and I use it twice a day after washing and before any other products (always go thinest to thickest after washing!) Definitely my favorite part of my skin care routine and my skin has never stayed as clear as it does now

This toner was a serious game changer for my face. I originally received a small sample from the company about a month ago, and I had to buy more before I ran out. Before using this product, my face was both oily and dry. I suffered from extreme cystic acne, and eczema on the lower portion of my face, while my t-zone and forehead was like an oil slick. I'll try to attach pictures later, but my skin has been terrible my whole time I've been in my twenties. On top of using this toner after cleansing, I also use Beautycounter's Cleansing Balm, and I use beef tallow on my face as a moisturizer. I sometimes use a Vitamin C serum to help with brightening, but other than that, I have a pretty low maintenance routine. Within DAYS of using this, the redness in my face completely diminished, and any existing acne I had disappeared without a trace. While I still have a few cystic acne spots (thanks, PCOS), my skin would not be how it is now without this toner. If you're on the fence, reach out and try a sample! As others mention, this product is highly priced for being predominantly alcohol. That said, the ingredient combination really is 'special' and I notice a decrease in breakouts. I use this product with the Enzyme Cleanser, also by Mario Badescu, and for the past month of using these two products - I have had zero breakouts or even minor trouble areas. After trying nearly everything under the sun and being okay with the status quo...I think I've finally found something that really works. I can't use this every day and tend to just focus the product on areas that look like they need a little extra something. The toner can be a bit 'spicy' and drying, but with dry skin in general, it's still gentle enough to use 1x a day.

I've loved almost all of the Mario Badescu products I've tried, and this is no exception. I was a little on the fence at first and feeling it out for a while, but I've realized this is a must have toner for combination/breakout prone skin and also provides great balance from use of Retin A & Clindamycin. When I first used Special Cucumber Lotion, I broke out a little. Only because the moisturizer I used was crap and didn't do anything for my skin. So I cut that out of my routine and just used my cleanser (MB Enzyme Cleansing Gel) and Special Cucumber Lotion, followed by one of my topicals. I figured out that this stuff is actually lightly moisturizing and gives me the right amount of moisture for my skin to balance out drying effects! As well, it keeps breakouts at bay (I still get occasional spots, it's a never-ending battle.) It has a little bit of alcohol in it to disinfect and cucumber extract to soothe. Awesome mild acne toner. And if I feel I need an extra moisture boost, I use aloe vera gel and it doesn't break me out.

I was not expecting to actually like this but I was pleasantly surprised. It smells amazing and works really well for my skin as a toner. It lasts long and gives my skin a nice matte, smooth finish that allows my other skin care products to work well. I tried many of the Asian toners and essence products and could never find one that worked well for me. I purchased this out of frustration and I'm so glad I did. Great buy. As long as it's being made I will continue to purchase.

You cannot go wrong with using Mario Badescu. They know their customers and what they want. I’ve been using Mario’s cleansers for ten years and never been disappointed. With that being said, I’ve just started using the toner. I’m only disappointed that I didn’t try the toner sooner. Probably because I was too discouraged from using other toners from other companies that made my face a lot worse. However Mario Badescu toners has helped tremendously. The great thing about the toners are. . . There are more than one choice to choose from, depending on whatever your issue maybe.. . Unlike other companies with their ‘one product that works for everyone’ Mario Badescu gives you choices. Their products works for you, not t against you!

NOPE. Huge waste of money. NOT WORTH IT. I'd rather buy The Body Shop products than this.

I am a teenager and have combonation skin. I have been struggling with acne for most of my teen years. During the summer though I had the clearest skin I have ever had but then my acne came back in September and has been active ever since. I got this product 4 days ago and already have seen incredible results. I mean INCREDIBLE! I have only 2 real pimples at the moment and my acne scars are quickly fading. Haven’t been able to find something that works for 6 months and now I finally have found my HOLY GRAIL. Highly recommend to littlerally everyone.

One of my favourite toners, I use this after I cleanse my face. Applied on a cotton pad, I work the T zone then move to surrounding areas. I let the product dry for about 3 minutes before I apply the rest of my skincare regime.

Helps to control my adult acne. I use in conjunction with other products from this line. If you have dry skin you may find this too drying
