Could never get it to stay lit...
I too like another reviewer could not get this heater to stay lit. I followed the instructions completely, waited 5 minutes after the fist attempt to light it failed. Tried lighting with an open flame as they suggested but the pilot would never stay lit. I actually got the unit to burn a full flame in the tube by manually lighting it but as soon as I would release the valve in the knob it would go out. I suspect there was an issue with the thermo coupler. A call to Lavaheat Customer service was a waste. You never get a person, immediately sent to voice mail. When I did get someone to answer she 1st suggested I watch their video on how to light their heaters, to which I real;ied I know how to light your heaters then she had to transfer me to the same voice mail. Too bad on this unit because we own a floor standing Lavaheat Patio Heater and it is wonderful. Maybe this is why Lavaheat has discontinued this model, maybe hey've had too many problems with it. So it has been returned the same day I received it.
