Was trying to fix an ice making issue. The part arrived one day early. The part was installed without any issues but did not fix the issue. Therefore we ordered a Water Dispenser Head directly from GE. We will know if the two parts will fix our issue once the GE order is received and installed.

This item from the dealers at Amazon must be “repairing damaged units “ & reselling them cause it didn’t last long at all so I ordered another one from a different supplier on amazon & again it didn’t last.I decided to order from Walmart at a penny higher than amazon and it has lasted longer than anything from Amazon suppliers ( I didn’t know Walmart even sold parts till I went to google the part ) the best part of everything is the part is brand new from the manufacturer totally different box, way of shipping & everything else. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH BUYING THIS FROM AMAZON BUT INSTEAD SPEND A PENNY MORE , get it BRAND NEW from the manufacturer though WALMART.

work's for my 25 year old GE
I had a slow leak in the back of my fridge and ordered this to replace my existing valve. My fridge is 25 years old, and everything works fine, so I didn't feel the need to replace the whole thing for a $20 part. Turns out, I had a cracked hose that I only need to cut off about an inch, but I replaced the valve anyway. Like others said on here, they changed the fitting size on one side. I was worried about using electrical tape on them, but I was able to remove the existing connections from the casing, crimp them down to fit this new valve, and reinsert them back into the casing as if it was supposed to work that way. The water seems to come out faster and colder. The colder water could be from cleaning out years of dust though, but this valve definitely fits and works perfectly.
