interior Length and height and width ??

The interior is 8" wide by 5 1/2" high.

I am looking for a lockbox for the Honeywell Thermostat RTH6580WF1001/W. The dimensions listed dont make sense. Which will fit this Thermostat?

I don't think it will fit. It's approximately 3.5 inches protruding from the wall and 9 inches length and 7 inches height.
