For the price this is a great product. The darker colors show up better in my lighter hair. My daughter and I Both have blonde hair and this showed up nicely for both of us. I wouldn’t call it vibrant but you could definitely see it. My biggest issue is that it made my hair look and feel like I hadn’t washed it. The product does indicate that you may need to wash tour hair twice and they weren’t kidding. The color mostly came out but again, it looks like i didn’t wash my hair when I was done shower number one. Once my hair dried it felt like I sprayed hair spray in and then just forgot about it.You also have to be quite forceful when “combing” it in. I had to go over the same section multiple times to get any color on my hair. That wasn’t a problem for me. My daughter complained a bit but pain is beauty, right?Overall if you want a lot of colors for not a lot of money this is the product for you. I know my review has mostly complaints but it serves the purpose I wanted it to so I am satisfied.

Ok so this was great in theory for kids Halloween costumes....HOWEVER my daughters have blonde hair and so we tested the green chalk 1st. It did not want to come out with 2 shampoos as per instructions. So I used liquid castile soap and that worked like a charm! So we used the red and yellow and white chalk sticks next for csotumes. We have washed their hair 7 times at least now and they still have color left at ends of hair or patches here and there. The liquid castile did NOT work on these colors. I bought Head & Shoulders to help strip the color which worked better but alas we are still pink from red fading, whitish grey & pale yellow. I am not a happy mama! I will just buy a wig from now on! It's everyone's call to make but I did not enjoy washing their hair 3 times Halloween night in order to get jammies on without being stained!!!! Neither did my girls! :(

My hair is already rainbow. I bought this hair chalk primarily too bright in the pink that washes out so easily. I washed my hair and while wet like the directions said I combed it through the pink part of my hair it left a chalky residue which I expected since it was chalk but then when I blowdried it as directed and combed my hair a lot of the chalk came out on my comb. So I rewet the hair re-chalked it blowdried it and used hairspray before combing it. In the pictures you can see the lighter pink towards the midshaft of my bangs that is the chalk it brightened it a little bit but overall didn’t do too much to make the pink more noticeable. This might work great on lighter colored hair it would be great for a little girl but if you’re trying to update already colored hair it just didn’t seem to help

My first time trying a hair chalk product. I expected chalk. It's more of a colored grease comb. I pulled out some of my hair as I scrubbed the color on my thin curls. Gotta say the color was good but the greasy feeling made it hard to style. The color rubs off on your pillow so not good for overnight expectations. Regular shampoo will not remove the thick grease. I tried my regular shampoo, castle soap and then resorted to my dish soap which finally did the job. I will probably use this in small patches occasionally. I'll just remember to keep the dish soap handy.

Got this as an alternative to the almost crayon looking hair chalk sticks. Thought they would be easier to use for numerous kids at a birthday party at home. Price was not bad, however, my daughter and I did have a hard time getting them to show up in our hair even with getting our hair plenty damp (as per the instructions). Once I finally got enough in to say we "used" them I felt like no amount of shampoo and conditioner could get the oil to come out of my hair. Overall, not terrible product, but could have taken a little more hair color and a little less hair grease.

I purchased these to use on my son for Halloween. He has very light blond hair. I found it worked much better when the hair was wet. His hair is pretty short so I found it a bit more difficult to apply. I thought it was pretty easy once the hair was wet. With a few strokes of the chalk brush he had color in his hair. I can imagine if you have darker hair it might take a bit more work, but longer hair should be a bit easier.With all the time at home these days, we found these again the other day and he asked to color his hair again. Unfortunately I must have misplaced the color we did at Halloween as it's missing from the box. He liked the pink.I didn't apply these very dark, so they washed out the first time he washed his hair. I was afraid they might stain his hair because it is so light, but they did not.

Color was not as vivid on sandy blonde hair as was hoped. Some colors even looked bad on hair. It kind of looked like a homeless I never wash my hair look. Color wiped off when you touch your hair, it got on brushes, on pillows and towels or anything else you brushed against. Not as easily washed out as you would think. I recommend buying a colored wig.

The directions are easy and simple, but the chalk doesn't do much to color your hair. I have very thin hair and if I wanted to color my hair one color only, you may have enough to do the tips, but the color doesn't show up well even at that. If you try to use enough chalk to show well, it makes your hair sticky, but even if you use the entire comb, it doesn't show up well, not even with the bright colors. I bought them because my daughter wanted to color her hair, but we didn't want permanent. It just doesn't make a color change anywhere close to the photos shown. My fiance couldn't even tell even after it was pointed out to him. I have a disappointed kiddo on my hands for sure.
